Re: GM, Ford Likely Dragged U.S. Car Sales to 15-Year Low

LOL everybody here thinks that i am VCDJ. Man he must be somebody that everybody hates. What is he a devil? But sorry i am not that guy.
Back to this topic. Toyota low june sales are because they ran out of corrola and yaris and prius. GM did not run out of any cars. That is the difference.

OMIGOD! Did ToyotaNation send you here? If you hate GM so much, leave. "Ran out of corrolla and yaris and prius". Yeah, right. EVERYONE is slowing down, it's a frakin' recession! Where's your contempt for Ford? Don't say this is a GM forum, so GM is who you're targeting, because then you can't use your Church of Toyota scriptures! Toyota sells just as many inefficient vehicles as GM does, why don't you understand? Prove to me that Toyota ran out of those cars thereby lowering their yearly sales numbers. I'll wait here, go on.

I do not hate gm. i like gm. I drive gm cars. Some of them are not so good quality but i like to support american workers. That being said. Toyota did run out of yaris, corrola and prius. Go to any toyota dealer. also how many trucks and suvs does toyota sell and how many does gm. Do you see the difference. Also toyota sells a lot more cars then trucks gm does not. I am not trying to pick on gm. IT just crazy how bad gm management is and how they put gm in a bad position. Ford is in better position then gm. They are making all the right moves Rick and lutz are not.

Re: GM, Ford Likely Dragged U.S. Car Sales to 15-Year Low

From the original thread link - its going to interesting to see if these people redeem themselves - last month was a big miss - even in terms of the partially corrected 'late - last 5 days' forecasts.

Overall, GM did way better and Toyota did much worse than forecast in June 2008 - pretty much the same story for the previous MAY 2008.

And therefore Toyota is just as responsible for not producing more of their wonderful fuel efficent vehicles which everyone must buy. Sorry, if GM & Ford didn't sell all their cars then either people are too stuck up to realize that they can get quality affordable vehicles from American auto makers or they didn't visit a GM or Ford show room.

About the only cars GM & Ford make that would have the potentialy to get worse gas mileage than the SUVs they make (not CUVs) are the high performance cars and even then they will do better if you can stop at every stop light you see.

I just called the local Toyota dealer, Toyota of Bellevue. They have 40 Corollas, none stickering lower than $17K, the majority lie between $19K and $21K. They have about 4 Yaris' and 1 Prius. Low? Sure, on the Prius and Yaris, but definitely not out of Corollas.

GM management did not put GM in a bad position by selling trucks. Buyers wanted trucks and SUV's because gas was (well, still is) cheap, so GM made them. You can't blame them for doing so, heck, Toyota even spent tons and tons of money to redesign the Tundra/Sequoia AND build a new factory for them so Toyota could get in on the action. The only thing GM did was what every other major player did - even Porsche- and that was to make what people wanted. Now, gas prices are up and so everyone expects the auto manufacturers to change gears instantly. Not gonna happen. You're criticizing GM for something that Toyota does, too. Why is it we expect GM to switch over instantly while we ignore all the Lexus' that get less than 30mpg that Toyota sells? How about all the RX350's? The LX470's? They get terrible fuel economy, lower than GM SUV's but still you hate on GM and praise Toyota. Someone has to build trucks, some people still need them. All this is just more "I hate my country" media spin. If anything kills GM it will be the sheeple that believe all this crap.

Let see gm management did not put gm in bad shape because people wanted only trucks and suvs. Well what other option did they have. you can buy crapy cavalier or that old crapy malibu it looked like a** You could buy that beautifull grand prix. or you could buy chevy tahoe and siverado and blazer that they advertised on tv everyday and plus you will get big incentive in buying one. What sane person wanted crapy cavlier or old malibu grand prix and so on.

Irrelevant, since most ISP's use DHCP. Your IP address changes regularly under DHCP and would most likely not be the same as a month ago.

Too Many people are soiling too many pampers, GM will survive and times will get better. There is a lesson to be learned here, Americans have no clue what they want until they cannot afford it.

My S/O has a Cavalier. 98K miles, nothing but oil changes and regular maintenance. Please, tell me why it's crap. So, when you're faced with truth and logic, you try to say they had no other choice? You're a hoot. Do the voices tell you what to say, or are you on your own?

I've tried to reason with Bokl (VCDJ) before. It's impossible. GM isn't looking good right now, but the press totally ignoring Toyota's sales slide is typical.
As a rule the press makes a big deal out of any bad news for the Big 3 and then ONLY mentions the good news (i.e. Honda sales) when talking about import brands. Toyota's slide last month only got a little bit of ink and even when it was mentioned the press incorrectly attributed the slide soley to lack of Prius'. No mention of Lexus, the tundra, Toyota SUVs, Avalon, etc. IN reality, Toyota has about 5 vehicles that are selling really well (3 account for the majority of their sales) and the rest of its lineup is stagnating or declining big time.

We are NOT in a recession. We are in a slower growth period then we have been in the past. Recession, by definition, is two consecutive quarters of decline in our real GDP.

We have yet to encoutner this so everyone needs to stop throwing that word around to liberally (CNN and MSNBC - this means you). Our country's economy is still growing, just at a snails pace of where we were when the housing boom was happening as gas prices were in the $2 range.

Economic slow down yes, recession no...

So true!

Bokl=VCDJ. How is that he went through Member1, Member2, Member3, etc. earlier this month before registering as "Bokl" on Tuesday?

Of course, if we're wrong, that means there's more than one misinformed, illiterate GM-hater out there!
