TOYOTA CANADA INC. ENJOYS RECORD MARCH SALES
New and competitively priced models help deliver new records for Toyota Canada Inc. (TORONTO) – Toyota Canada Inc. TCI also achieved a record first quarter with sales of 44,806 Toyota and Lexus vehicles, up 14.3 per cent over last year. Canadians purchased 19,523 Toyota vehicles in March, up 14.5 per cent versus March 2007 to set a new record for the month. Toyota sold 14,488 passenger cars last month, up 22.4 per cent from the same month in 2007 to set a new March record. Toyota truck sales of 5,035 in March were off 3.3 per cent compared to the March record set in 2007. Lexus sold 556 luxury SUVs in March, up 19.6 per cent over the same month last year to set a new March record. “Canadians have responded to excellent products and competitive pricing after the first full month of price adjustments on many Toyota models,” said Tony Wearing, Managing Director at TCI. “Popular choices were the all-new 2009 Corolla and the all-new 2009 Matrix cross-over, both built in Cambridge, Ontario. In all, it’s a great finish to the first quarter, and a great way to start a new year.” “The Lexus story in March was all about its luxury SUVs, which combine performance, comfort, quality and style. Canadian guests seem to agree, helping us achieve new March records for three models - including the all-new 2008 LX 570 flagship model.” said Yves Gionet, Director of Lexus in Canada. “With the new IS F rolling onto streets in March, Canadians will soon be hearing an exciting new Lexus performance story.” March sales highlights: March record for Yaris models at 3,613, up 10.6 per cent over last March. Re: GM Canada sales for March down 16.4%
Does that mean that the Equinox Sport that I ordered AT THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER!!! will finally be in and at a lower price? Because so far the Nox has had nothing for incentives on it, and no "price matching" to pair with the US dollar.
Seriously though, isn't over 4 months a little long? |

Re: GM Canada sales for March down 16.4%
I would like to see a model breakdown for GM Canada sales. I still think Malibu sales are in the tank, regardless of the 114.5% increase.

Re: GM Canada sales for March down 16.4%
Toyota sales are up because when they lowered the prices due t the dollar, they were the only company to come close to par. GM is still nowhere close to par, even with the new rebates.

Re: GM Canada sales for March down 16.4%
Let's keep in mind GM is still number 1 in Canada, Toyota around 5th although the media makes it sound like they are number 1. March sales GM: 30,208 Toyota:20,649
Year to date GM 83,263 Toyota: 44,806 Let the headlines read: GM sells 85% more vehicles than Toyota year to date. |
