Re: Ford June 2007 Sales - Retail sales "edge" up

Mostly good news...only disappointment is that the Fusion appears to have hit a plateau at around 12K a month, which makes it no more than a marginal player in the midsize wars. On merit it should be doing 20K a month, at least.

Re: Ford June 2007 Sales - Retail sales "edge" up

It looks like the old escape has some steam left with the redesign I have seen a bunch of them this week on the streets and at the pace its going I think the Edge will outsell the fusion this year. I think that maybe some people that went to buy a Fusion had changed their mind when they saw the more powerful Taurus and with the low price it has I would buy one too, and looking at Ford sale reduction it was because fleet only, retail IMO is stable and how much of the sales of the new Superduty contributed to the F series sale slowdown

Edge outsold Murano 2 to 1

(MKZ and MKX each alone outsold the Infinity Brand)

Boy, the Edge has come out the gate running. It is impressive for a new nameplate to ramp up sales as quickly as it has.

No they didn't, I think you were looking at truck sales...but, Lincoln brand outsold Infiniti brand overall. Despite being the darling of so many in the press and enthusiasts, Infiniti is not very healthy sales-wise aside from the G-series.

Ford is doing good. Their quality is up, and it is better them GM. They are improving fuel economy. Their new vehicles look very good. In couple years ford will be very healthy company. That is not something tha can be said about gm.

Unless, of course, someone says it. Then it can be said. What's this in-depth quality study you're referencing? Just a feeling you have?

I expected the Fusion to level off higher than it has for sure. I didn't think it was quite a Camry challenger, but was sure it'd be up above 20,000 units per month.

Edge and Escape are doing very well; I was sure the Edge would wipe out Escape sales, but clearly it hasn't.

Re: Ford June 2007 Sales - Retail sales "edge" up

Well Toyota sales are out : http://www.toyota.com/about/news/cor...3-1-sales.html

Edge outsold the Highlander (11,253) and Escape outsold the Rav4 (14,677). But Ford Cannot touch their car sales .. not at all.

Tundra sold 21k units.

Lincoln still cannot touch the Lexus though: ES350 sold 7,323 and RX sold 9,349; combined, Lexus is alsmost twice the size of Lincoln.

Yeah, but it's 32.0% fleet, very high for such a new vehicle.
