I point out to you that sales figures don't tell the full story, you know that yet persist with the dumb act, why?

GM was the worlds largest auto company by volume, did that stop them going bankrupt? NO.

Sales volume alone proves nothing, so what was your point again? oh yeah malibu WOULD had outsold fusion IF you take the hybrid fusion sales away from the monthly total...AND?

I haven't seen a break down of fleet vs retail for these vehicles. If you have such information, feel free to share.
You want to overlook the sales of the Fusion Hybrid but want hard data in the fleet v. retail sales. Kind of twisted logic there, very strict to bash Ford but lax to overlook Chevy's faults. But hey, we aim to please . . .

This was the situation a year ago . . .

Headline: Malibu Was ONLY 47% Retail LINK

. . . when the economy wasn't nearly half as bad as it is today and when Chevrolet was making the EXACT same Malibu it makes today . . .

I never argued that they did. Regardless, sales figures are the only hard data we have until you can provide more.

You're going off on a tangent.

I never bashed anyone or overlooked any faults. You're making stuff up.

Yawn. Do try to provide data that is atleast somewhat current.

You're going off on a tangent.
If you're going to bring up one figure, It's YOU who must provide the full story, you know better...or do you?

Tangent? you obviously need reminding.

That would be the case if I tried to make a point based on the figures I provided. As of now, all I have done is look at the sales figures and post said figures on GMI.

I never claimed anything different.

I'm pretty sure I've stated my point 2-3 times now. If it makes you this upset, I suggest not letting Ford Motor Company have such a big impact on your emotions.

Numbers that matter:

Fusion sales YTD: 134,600 +14.5%
Malibu sales YTD: 118,995 -15.3%

That better?

See the trend, oh thats right ONE months worth of sales count ONLY right?

Which numbers matter to you is subjective. You are free to value YTD sales if you wish.

Also, I am free to point out September '09 figures:

Malibu (3rd model year/no hybrid/no nav) = 10,479
Fusion = 10,834

With the Camry outselling both cars by 150%, I'm tempted to say neither car is doing well at this point. I guess you could say both are doing equally bad.

If anyone has the fleet vs retail break down for the Fusion and Malibu, I'd love to see it.

Who cares!

Profit counts, as GM's bankruptcy proves...
