Glad to see Ford gaining momentum in Canada too.

It is not as bad as it looks at GM , actually the compact suv sector which includes the HHR,Equinox, Torrent and Vue are up a total of 58% over last year. This is actually a good thing because there has been no real incentives on these vehicles.

Re: Canadian Sales figures April

not as bad as it looks??? sales down nearly 20%... even if it's only half as bad as it looks that's sales down 9%, still pretty bad. and this sales plummet was nearly all retail... it'd be one thing if it was mostly fleet, but these are the real consumers causing this drop off.

There really is no way for anyone to put a positive spin on these GM results (and come across even remotely convincing). I think even GM spin-doctors would find that a challenging assignment.

Wow, big drop for GM sales. And surprisingly, Honda had a 6% drop. Keep in mind the Civic is very popular in Canada, and the Fit is already on sale. Compacts in general are popular in Canada. I wonder what caused their sales to drop? New Camry eating into Accord sales?

Now that must've hurt. I also wonder what's up with Honda. Nissan must've suffered even harder probably.... How is Mazda doing?

You were right. They both dropped like stones. Volvo was down big as well. Besides them, it looks like a trend toward more expensive vehicles, which leaves Honda and Mazda worse for the wear.
