Re: Canadian auto sales set August record, GM up 3.2%

I've encountered a few people who live in North America who take exception to US citizens referring to themselves as American... as if to imply that only the US makes up North America. Seems overly sensitive on their part to me, but that may explain to some degree why North American companies are considered 'domestic' even if their HQ's are not in some people's country of origin.

Nonetheless, Detroit makers' sales are up! Assuming it doesn't represent high(er) fleet percentages or [more] highly incentivized retail sales, that's great news.

Seriously, just asking? Not trying to start an arguement.
The GTO was built in Aus and the G8 will be, and the Astra will come from Belgium. Saab 9-3, 9-5 are built in Sweden. I can't think of any others off the top of my head.

I've never considered anything American to be foreign, I don't even consider American's to be foreigners, JUST NEIGHBORS.

For trade purposes in automobiles, it is one country for all intents and purposes.
