Camaro Bests Mustang In June Sales
Camaro Bests Mustang In June Sales
The General wasn't bluffing when they said the Chevy Camaro might out-perform the 2010 Mustang in early summer sales. The Camaro was the best-selling muscle car in June by more than 1,000 units. Building on the excitement over the new car, no doubt helped by Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the Camaro achieved sales of 9,320 units, compared to just 7,632 for the Mustang. Could this be the start of a trend? http://jalopnik.com/5305620/camaro-b...-in-june-sales |

Re: Camaro Bests Mustang In June Sales
- Camaro was over hyped by GM for 5 years prior to release
- Mustang has a summer fun convertible option - Mustang has sync - Mustang has navigation - Mustang has the track pack - Mustang never left the market and is America's true living legend - Mustang Shelby GT500 is the top dog - Mustang exterior/interior/suspension were heavily revised and are all better than the Camaro - Mustang handles better - Mustang is just as fast (actually faster considering the top-dog GT500) - Mustang offers a glass roof - Mustang has been in continual production and is America's favorite pony car - Camaro's are for rednecks or hairy chested women - Camaro's trunk can barely hold a shoe box - Camaro is too heavy and too wide for parking I probably forgot a few, but yeah, NO WAY the Camaro should have ever outsold the Mustang. Remember, the Camaro was killed for a reason, so to say there was pent up demand couldn't be farther from the truth. The few who did like the Camaro surely lost interest after seeing the car everyday for over 5 years. I just don't get it. ![]()

Re: Camaro Bests Mustang In June Sales
Where's the V-6 Mustang Vs V-6 Camaro comparisons?
After all, the 6 cyl is the best selling Mustang. That's what I thought. |

Re: Camaro Bests Mustang In June Sales
I fell out laughing from that!
Remember back in, what was it, 2007? When the Trailblazer outsold the Explorer for that one month? And everyone on GMI lost their collective ISH celebrating/gloating? This is like that. I'm happy for Chevrolet, the Camaro, the Canadians, and GM. I hope it's sustainable.

Re: Camaro Bests Mustang In June Sales
I think he said 10,000 orders have yet to be filled...so I think we will at least see the Camaro #1 for 2 months.

Re: Camaro Bests Mustang In June Sales
I can agree with that.
Frankly, I'm amazed that some are so surprised by this. With 8 years of pent up demand, I'm surprised the difference isn't greater than it is.............. or the orders left to be filled isn't larger. Of course, that is probably more a symptom of the economy, than anything else. |

Re: Camaro Bests Mustang In June Sales
The concept didn't appear until 2006. 3 1/2 years from concept to production is about par. .
