One dealer somewhere sold a leftover 2006 Viper. Remember, these are sales figures to actual customers, not sales from the factory to the dealer. For example, during calander year 2006, GM's charts show they sold 96 Oldsmobiles, although the last Oldsmobile was a 2004 model, because dealers had 96 leftover 2004 models that they sold during 2006.

I know, I guess I'm kind of surprised they had only one leftover viper. If they had any more then it would still make the situation laughable.

Suffice to say GM probably won't be bringing over the Vectra wagon (Aura) or G8 wagon any time soon.....sighhhhhh
Freestyle was replaced by the Taurus X for 2008, which is basically the same car, and combined sales of the two were actually up. But then again, the Freestyle/Taurus X is more of a crossover/CUV/SUV than a wagon.

Re: August 2007 Sales - All Manufacturers

BTW: The Solstice has now passed the MX-5 as America's best selling roadster for 2007. If it can hang on to that for 4 more months that'll be 2 years in a row.

I not laughing about the fact that a domestic manufacture such as Chrysler is suffering, I'm laughing at the fact that they only sold 1 Dodge Viper. It's just funny. GM manages to sell many Chevy Corvettes and on top of that their halo car the Corvette Z06. So it is funny in my opinion.

That's exactly what I'm saying. As of July, there were 100 Vipers. By August, there were NO Vipers left in nationwide inventory, so that was likely the last one.

All of this information comes from Automotive News.

Again, it's not funny. There is nothing to laugh at. They had approximately ONE 2006 Viper left in stock, and they sold it. Did you not read my earlier post that they stopped production of the Viper LAST YEAR?

When the very last leftover MY2002 Camaro was finally sold, in, say, calendar year 2005 (I don't recall exactly and I'm not going to look it up), it was most likely the only one sold that particular month.

Did you laugh back then?

Your statement about the Corvette shows in a crystal clear way that you do not understand what's happening. There's NO '07 Viper... i.e. no models on sale now except leftovers. (While at it, with the same logic, you should compare Mustang sales to Camaro/Firebird for 2007... I'm sure the numbers for the latter are totally laughable.)

Ok. So there was only 1 2006 Dodge Viper left in stock. I see....

Re: August 2007 Sales - All Manufacturers

I just want to thank whoever is putting this together.

I used to get this info out of Automotive News, at a cost of $150 a year. I gave it up, eventually, but I totally miss the detailed sales figures.
