Re: April vehicle sales seen down, GM SUVs strong, Detroit Fleet Sales 1 in 3

As gas prices put an end to the SUV fad GM needs to get in gear with an alternative or these will look like the good old days.

I also hope the folks who bought their new GMT-900 (or any truck for that matter) understand that they will have little resale value very soon.

It's amazing the GMT900's are selling so well.

Can this continue?
A lot of people buy these trucks too for business purposes. They pass the higher cost of gas onto their customers. Perhaps this is why core inflation was up in the first quarter and is still rising.

I think the 900s will hold thier value better than most trucks of its size. The mpg of the Tahoe is very good for its size, better than most. Plus the Tahoe hybrid is on the way.

His intervention was to reduce gasoline prices from their near "high" of $0.80/gallon (USD) to only $0.60/gallon. That's pretty amazing!

I know the demographics of FS SUV buyers generally tend toward higher household incomes, but $120 for one fill-up is pretty harsh. Perhaps a hybrid GMT-900 is in your future?
That's no problem, America's footing the bill for the price reduction.

And .80c is cheap gas for us here because our average income is 5x the amount of the average income in the middle east.

$3.49/gallon in San Jose. And I could have sworn that it was only 3.45 just last weekend. Prices go up fast
