I don't recall ever seeing a list with retail-only sales.

yes, down 10% from the 25-35% levels they were at last year... so still a solid 22-32% fleet. GM would have to drop fleet sales by more than 50% to even get close to the level of the imports. personally i'd suggest just getting more retail sales instead of dropping fleet sales, which both gets more overall money and better percentages.

Re: 20 top-selling vehicles in the U.S. through April of 2006

GM sales are down, but likely most of that decrease is due to fewer low-margin fleet sales. The key will be bottom-line profitability.

yeah cobalt, update it GM and it will sell, double wishbone suspension and disks all the way around and a 6speedauto fwd tranny will help also. (mileage increase and new interior are not a bad idea...although GM updated the interior mildly this year. so we will see)

Maybe it's too early to see some 2007 models impace the results...

6 Honda Civic 109,738 90,812 7 +20.8
Looks like the new model is doing well for them.

8 Chevrolet Impala 90,312 87,770 8 +2.9
11 Chevrolet Cobalt 71,776 51,888 24 +38.3
18 Chevrolet Tahoe 58,242 42,988 34 +35.5
YAY!
Civic and the Tahoe seem to be the only 1's up with a bulllet here. The Cobalt and the a Impala, have either been out or just coming out recently.

I see the Camary as being the real sorry 1 here.

Re: 20 top-selling vehicles in the U.S. through April of 2006

If this list demonstrates anything it should demonstrate the reason to combine sales of the Impala and Monte Carlo. The combination would move it much closer to the Accord, in terms of sales.

Pretty big shakeup from last year.

Edit: wait, M/ustang down 8%? Hmm... So much for syr's "sales are only decreasing because it's not summer" theory.
