Maybe the supply of the new Camry or the introduction of the new Camry (lack of interest for the old model) has something to do with it.

The Cobalt and the Tahoe and the Civic are healthy, but the Ford Explorer is taking a death plunge.

Look at the Impala sales. They are up 3%, when compared to last year. Fleet sales of the car this year are substantially less than they were last year, and retail sales seem to be picking up the slack. They need to fix the Malibu and fast.

I've never seen a list without fleets. It'd be frightening.
What's with DCX? Only 2 of the top 20?!?

Re: 20 top-selling vehicles in the U.S. through April of 2006

No real surprises. It would HAVE to include fleet sales--Ford doesn't sell the Taurus to normal customers anymore.

The F150 still reigns supreme at number 1--where it's been for as long as I can remember. Chevy full-sizers are down, but that's likely due to people knowing a new model is on the way. As for cars, no surprise the Camry and Accord are top CARS sold--they've been trading the number 1 and 2 spots for years, with the Civic also being near the top. The last time an American car was the best-selling car in America (car, not truck) was the 1995 Ford Taurus. It's been CamCords every other year since.

Seeing the Cobalt so high on the list doesn't surprise me. Local advertisements have been saying the Cobalt is the best-selling car in the Pittsburgh area--and it must be, because the **************** things are EVERYWHERE. Seriously, I see dozens of 'em in traffic every single day. They are all over the freakin' place! They're as popular, maybe even more popular, than the Cavalier (and I dunno HOW that car was so popular, because THEY'RE everywhere too!) The only vehicle I see more of than Cobalts are Ford and Chevy trucks.

Malibu's stats are odd. I would have counted Classics in there (for last year's totals; the Classic is no longer made, of course). Of course, if you do count Classics, it would look like Malibu's sales had fallen off a cliff.

Is amazing that the F150 is selling more compared to last year.
