However, if Honda focuses on what it does best, that is, building well engineered, fuel efficient cars that are fun to drive and generally reliable, that customers are willing to pay a slight premium for, I'd say it's a safe bet.

It's the companies that get too big and unfocused like the old GM and current Toyota that you have to wonder about!
Amen to that! Honda stays within it's bounds doesnt try to pretend to be a goliath doesn't care to be. They make their products to the best of their ability and that's why they succeed, kind of like Apple, great product, great sales experience, reliability and just doing them. Not trying to be number one in sales, or market share, just making good Apple's and Hondas

Honda is still doing great even with all the economic turmoil, if they keep up the good job they'll still be here 200 years from now. Maybe by then they'll be known as Honda Intergalactic Inc. and be makers of military robots and you thought ASIMO was just for fun?

Re: Where will Honda be in 101 years?

With the information coming out that the next Civic will return to being smaller and lighter, I would not be surprised if the next Accord comes out smaller than the 03-07 model.

By returning to what people like best about them I think that they will be here in 2047, still making cars, hopefully flying ones as well.

They need to rethink Acura though, and provide it with a clear direction and decide where it is going to play in the market.
