Way cool find! And only an hour away from me. I love these old obscure special edition cars.

Re: Rare Toronado XSC from 1980

The only thing that disappointed me about the Toronado compared to the Rivy and the Eldo of that time were the lack of wheek choices on the Toronado. Wire hubcaps (which I detest) or flat hubcaps (painted on the XSC) are all the brochure shows available, whereas the the other two had some nice-looking wheel options.

On the options sheet, you can just barely make out that this is a 350 gas engine (307 was standard), in the last year that the 350 Olds gas engine offered. Another feather in this car's cap.

Re: Rare Toronado XSC from 1980

I have an old magazine ad for the 1980 'XSC' Toronado filed away--I saved it because I really liked them, when they were new. Although I tried to get that admiration going in the next-gen Toronado 'Trofeo' editions, it did not materialize. In my opinion, the special editions such as the 'XSC,' 'Biarritz,' and 'Berlinetta' or 'Type LT,' etc. were really neat additions to GM's line-up, back in the day! This one looks sharp, so I hope someone who will preserve it is the winning bidder! What a really nice interior, too.

Another great eBay find. If only I had a 1,000-car garage and Bill Gates' wallet.
