I must say the 1968 Firebird hardtop is one of my favorites.

Yeah, though they have the reputation of being a real POS, mechanically they lasted a long time. My uncle had a Chevette for 9 years, and it ran resonably well even after the floor rusted through and had to be replaced with plywood.

But then again, all those cars have "fart burners" on them. That "fart burner" ads 5-10HP to your car ;some of those small Hondas can whip a Vett off the line. (from anti-rice.com)
So 115hp+10hp=430hp, at least in ricerland

I still think the C4 is far better looking than the C5 and C6.

BRAVADA, I must humbly ask for your help again. Can you find a photo of this car and post it for me?

Thanks.
I love the original K Body. It was GM's first real effort to compete with the imports. It was developed from the X Body and was the first production design using the Sheer Look that was indeed the dominant styling theme for a decade. A 1979 Seville in Glacier Blue would be one of my dream team.

It's perhaps an important lesson in life to realize that I miss my uncle more than I miss that car.

I don't. It was a brute of a car - the way a Chevrolet is supposed to be. The working man's hero in a time of FWD 4 cylinder Celebacys.

The last of a dying breed. We have a Tuesday night cruise in my suburb. It's a sort of show and shine. Anyways, the Grand Nationals and GNXs are always well represented - almost 20 years after the last was produced.

My 1988 Caprice 9C1 remains to be the best overall balanced car I've ever driven. I had no grief with that car for 13 years, and it continues to serve as the favorite vehicle of one of my employees (who also owns a 733i).

I liked those too. In Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police used 9C1 Malibus, with the LG4 305 4bbl, as highway patrol cars. As well, I just remembered that my drivers ed car was a 1981 Malibu with a 4.4 Liter small block.

My brother had a '79 with F40 suspension and a four speed...

Ah, the RWD Chevette produced from MY76 to MY87. It was based on the T body Opel Kadet that also spawned the Pontiac Acadian / T1000 as well as the Isuzu Impulse. Parts of the T body even continued life in the P body Fiero. The Chevette may have had an interior straight out of the stone age, but they were cheap, plentiful and durable. Just ask anyone who delivered pizza in the 80s. In its January 1985 issue, Car and Driver even chose it as one of its ten best third-world cars!
