Great thread... can't believe I've never looked at it! I love the Corvair.

These were so impractical, thats what I like about them. They require 103 octane gas and had overheating issues, and a radio and heater delete.
Aluminum heads an M22 rock crusher and anywhere from a 3:73 to a ridiculous 4:56.

I love it.

High 12s bud? Try low 12s. My dads 67 Chevelle with a 427 was runnning mid 12s with just headers.

Re: My favorite Classic GM!

For me, nothing was as BOLD as the Pontiac big cars of the 60s.

My personal pick: the 1965 Bonneville

I got one just like the one in the pic. These big boys were 18.5+ ft long and were available with optional 421 tri powers when their little brother GTOs only were available with a 389. Beautiful cars came from PMD back in the day. I hope GM makes a comeback for all these cars' sake.

edit: much better pics on this page:

Again not mine but its a nice guy's on a classic Poncho forum I'm on. Beautiful Montero Red.

I like the 65, but I like the 66 even more. I like the subtle face lift they did for 66.

I love the late 60's to mid 70's Olds 442 and Cutlass (essentially the same car)

I want the car pictured above in blue, something close to the LeMans blue, white stripes, white interior and make it a rag top....

My sister's B/f's dad sold the one he had for $8000 a couple of years ago. There wasn't anything wrong with it. It was a '69. White with gold stripes hard top. It needed some TLC maybe, but not a bad car at all.

Re: My favorite Classic GM!

I can't just pick one car to be my all time most bestus super duper favorite pick of the century, GM as a whole has built way to many cool cars in the last 50 years to pick one. But I could sum it up in one decade. 1960's and a "SS" on the side you can't go wrong.

God I miss chrome on cars

Thumbs up Re: My favorite Classic GM!

I like a lot of the old GM cars but my two favorites are the 1969 Camaro ss and the 1970 Chevelle ss 454 but the 60s were the best.

I like the looks of basically every classic GM you can think of. I really like this 67 Cadillac Eldorado though:

Re: My favorite Classic GM!

I can't believe I missed this thread.

I really love so many of GM's past offerings that it is very hard to choose a favorite, but I've got a few off the top of my head.

1971 Oldsmobile 442 (non-W30 w/ W30 upgrades - The car my dad restored during the first years of my life.)

1966 Chevrolet Malibu Sport Coupe (My dad's first car. He built a 302 out of the original 327 and swapped the original M20 for an M22.)

1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS454 LS6 (TH-400 with a bench seat please!)
