    Might have been?

What about the Pontiac Solstice? A car very much in line with what the Corvette was in style, layout, and execution.

And of course the Cadillac version, sold as a Saturn Sky.

One of many times Pontiac tried to get a version of the Corvette.

    Let's not forget Buick's Corvettes:

    1953 Wildcat I

    1954 Wildcat II

    1955 Wildcat III

I'm partial to the Wildcat II, personally.

I'd be completely fine/comfortable with a resurrected Pontiac absorbing Corvette into it's ranks & renaming it "Banshee"!!

But I'm not expecting the absorption to happen.

IF It's A Chevrolet & RWD, Don't ride in it!!!

ALL Chevy's NEED to be FWD/F-AWD!!!

    If it's a Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Don't ride in/drive it!!

Yep, in '07 Mrs & I had a choice between Vette & gxp, coulda had either. Years ago I had a '69 Stingray & never should have let it go. Older, wiser today, will never sell the Solstice.

Does this mean you're willing to give your anti-Chevrolet campaign a rest?

    Anti-Chevrolet campaign??

    I haven't any such campaign.
It's just that Chevrolet should not be in nearly every segment.
Be an "all things to all people" brand.

Chevrolet is the overweight member of GM family of brands & needs to be reduced in size & strictly be the entry level, economy/family brand.
Again, meaning no Corvette, Camaro, Trucks/SUVs/Large vans, ute....Anything that would be RWD/R-AWD/4x4 in Chevy's line up would disappear.
Those vehicles will be offered by a resurrected Pontiac, a (possible) "Corvette" brand (unless absorbed into Pontiac & renamed) & GMC.

I don't look at what you call my shrinking of Chevrolet as an "anti-Chevrolet campaign".

I look at it as leveraging all GM's brands playing specific roles of a car company.
It includes resurrecting one, spinning off another unto itself unless absorbed by the resurrected brand &
making another the sole "workhorse" brand.
Having all GM's brands in specific segments w/very little to no overlap between brands.
