Great cars ! smooth quiet and roomy. Wish we had that option these days.
I remember my Dad wanted to buy one of these in '86. We had a 19' foot sailboat that he wanted to trailer to various lakes. Unfortunately, the power train and rear axle ratio just wasn't stout enough to pull a boat. We ended up with a '86 Suburban. GM should have made the 350 available but I guess it wouldn't meet EPA regulations of the time.
1968 Buick Skylark (Buick 350/4)
1972 Chevrolet Corvette (350 LT-1)
2001 Chevrolet Tahoe LS (5.3 liter)
1983 Chevrolet C/10 Silverado (350 Goodwrench)
Former: 1989 GMC Suburban R1500 (5.7 liter)
1969 Buick Skylark Custom (Buick 350/2)
1971 Buick Riviera (Buick 455)
1971 Buick Electra 225 (Buick 455)
Without Buick, GM never would have existed.
I wish I had one right now. In fact, I did have a B-body wagon--a 1985 Caprice Classic a few years ago as my spare hauler. Unfortunately at that time my folks were getting a new car and getting rid of their '98 Explorer, and at that time it was the more practical keeper and I didn't have room for 4 cars, so the Caprice got the axe in favor of the Ex.
Sadly, the frame of the Ex is rusting like its a Tacoma and I fear it is not long for this world. Sigh. Pity really, the Ex is in great shape other than the frame and alas, I no longer own the Caprice. Of course, I'd prefer the Buick (or ideally--an Olds) to the Caprice, but I digress.

1998 Ford Explorer Sport
It seems odd today that they kept these on the old chassis instead of the H body. That said, at the time it seemed obvious![]()
