Re: Buick Regal 'Somerset'--How Rare??

There's currently a 1980 Regal Somerset on eBay right now! Here's the link. Unfortunately it has been painted a god-awful color and there are some tacky interior add-ons but these are still great interior picks of a very rare car.

Good grief. What have they done to that poor car? Thats awful!!!
*I would say something else about the probable ethnicity of the owner but I don't want any points.*

man thats sad, they sould've kept that somerset all original, lol, but i see they kept the interior pretty much the same, the only given sign to show it was a somerset at one time

They made Skylark Somersets also! Not sure how exclusive they are?

These were not Skylark Somersets!, The name was used on the N body Buick coupe from 1985 to 1987. The 1985 model was called Buick Somerset Regal (while the G body Regal still existed) and in 1986-87 it was Buick Somerset (Somerset Custom, Limited or T/Type).
The 1986-87 N body 4 door and all the 1988-91 two and 4 door models models were called Buick Skylark.
Confused?!

Before 1985, the name Somerset was used on a special edition of the RWD G body Regal.

At first, when Buick introduced the name "Regal", it was a trim level on the Century. Even ads from 1973 refered to the Buick Century Regal. Prior to that, Studebaker also used "Regal" as a trim level on it's different lines.

Wouldn't you really rather have an old Buick than the current ones?

Today these cars are rare...unfortunatly many have been repainted a single color, instead of the cool two color body style...hiding thier true identity

Re: Buick Regal 'Somerset'--How Rare??

There is a 1984 Regal Somerset on eBay now. This one is pretty rare with the two-tone beige/brown exterior/interior.

Here's another with a Somerset interior!

Angry Re: Buick Regal 'Somerset'--How Rare??

Hi, i`m new here.... I have a 1980 Buick regal. (I got it new and watched being built).... "we go way back"
I recently got it out (never drive it) only to find it "full of mice" AGAIN. This is the 3rd time it`s happened and I am wondering if anyone knows what the "cure" is to prevent this from happening!

I had this last time: Moth balls, Toilet bowl cleaner tablets and fabric softener sheets. ****"I have several cats to"!****

I`m a beaten man!.... anyway I removed the entire interior and replaced same at a cost of 500 + dollars! AGAIN
*I`ve also had these "electronic repellers" and put same INSIDE car, again.... all to no aval.!

Who knows what if anything I can do? HELP!!!!!!!

Thank`s Tom

Re: Buick Regal 'Somerset'--How Rare??

hahaha...my dad had one of these he bought super cheap for a work car, what a pile (the one he had, if they're clean they are pretty sharp looking cars)

it downed oil like there was no tommaro, and i think the tranny finally gave out not too long after he bought it. then he bought a olds cutlass we called the "brown bomber" it too was junk.

Re: Buick Regal 'Somerset'--How Rare??

I have a 1980 Regal Somerset with the original tan and blue paint scheme. It has been sitting at my sisters for the last 10 years. I was surfing the net last week and found out that it was a limited edition. I do not know how rare it is but it is still in pretty decent shape. It was my first car back in 1987. Decided that I am going to spend a little money and restore it to its original condition. If anyone has any info on it, please let me know. Thanks!!!
