Re: Buick GN: The power of the dark side
You will spend a long time thinking and trying to come up with a nicer, more popular, or even better engineered car that Buick made after this one...
The Buick Grand Nation was like the High School 'All State" Quarter back that I graduated with... He was Oh so cool and popular then, got all the girls... Now, he cuts my lawn and weeds my flowerbed on the weekend. If only Buick had continued to build "up" from this point.

Re: Buick GN: The power of the dark side
I bought one of these new....87' T-Type , dark blue metallic, loaded. Chipped it, put Bilsteins on it and built a one-of set of Fittistar 3-Piece wheels [ I worked there ] staggered 16x8/16x9 with Michelin XGT's, and added all delrin bushings. I added a factory GN spoiler and took off all the logos. Best of all, everything was comped. Emerson Fittipaldi borrowed it a couple of times when he left his car with us. It even had a one of a kind Fitti steeringwheel done in blue to match the interior. It was THE ultimate new car sleeper until those in the know figured it was the same car as a GN. It was easily faster than Vettes, Camaros, and Firebirds of that era. I sold it for what I paid in 1989 and it was exported to the Bahamas. I always wondered what became of it.
