AACA Meet in Hershey Oct 8-11

Anybody else going to the Hershey, PA Antique Automobile Club of America show next week/weekend? It is one of the biggest antique car shows in North America. They have some great old iron there...if you love old cars, and meeting great people, this is the place to be! If you are there on Saturday when it breaks up, there are hundreds of old cars (from old brass era antiques to 70's muscle cars) all driving out...it is great to see them all on the road! I have no idea if anything special is planned, but with the 100th anniversary of GM this year, it will be great to see cars from evey era of the company there! This is really worth the trip if you are in the area!

Thanks for the reminder! I'm sorry I can't make the trip this year--I hear it is really fabulous. I sure hope someone may take some pictures and post a few of them--many people say that once you've gone, you won't miss it in succeeding years. . .

I stopped there on the 2nd week of July this summer while on vacation. I read about the meet, but won't be in the area. Take lots of pictures for us.

I'll look for you on Saturday. I just got back from Carlisle and my pictures are up on CarSpace, if you want to check them out.

Nice photos!

We were deciding between Carlisle and Hershey, and we picked Hershey since we've never been (Dad & I).

Hopefully the Plymouth makes the trip!

I try to get to Carlisle (Spring, Import/Kitcar, and Fall) and Hershey each year. If I make it to Hershey on Saturday as planned, I will have hit all four this year.

Hope to see you guys there.

Re: AACA Meet in Hershey Oct 8-11

OK, so the Plymouth died three times today going from the storage garage to the house. However, we think we fixed the issue (clogged fuel filter).

So, it's all go for tomorrow!!!! I'll be the guy in the '58 Belvedere, or if I'm walking around, I'll be the guy with the big grey camera around his neck (you can see my visage on the "what do you look like" thread)

We head out at dawn!

Re: AACA Meet in Hershey Oct 8-11

Hershey was FANTASTIC! Oh man, so much eye candy.

And the Plymouth performed like a champ. 250 miles and not a single hiccup. I have 500 photos and videos. I may make a new thread.

We looked for you but all we saw was that 58 Fury. It was great this year though...so many awesome cars! What a beautiful weekend too...the weather was incredible! Not a cloud in the sky!

It was fantastic weather. I didn't enter the car into the show field, so you wouldn't have seen me there. I did drive it around a lot, so you would have seen me at the AACA museum, or driving on the roads, or parked in the grass lots:

Maybe when it gets some paint and some new chrome I'll show it. I just feel self concious about the imperfections and that the nitpickers will pick its nits to death; thereby taking all the fun out of it.
