1969 Oldsmobile Toronado restored

I was inspired by this video. This guy man fixed up this 1969 Oldsmobile Toronado. It looks great. It encourages me on my Toronado. Makes you wonder too if Oldsmobile was still here if Toronado would be like this today. Here is the video:

In my opinion, GM planners are fools! Letting this great heritage go to waste! That car is gorgeous--the style beats anything offered by anyone today. Just modernize it, bring up the build quality and capture that legacy! A car that would be more admired at any venue than just about any new car offered today.

I so agree...I have always felt it was an icon of automotive beauty, and to this day the design looks current, fresh, regal and bold. Put it side by side with modern blandness (Impala, "new" Taurus, G-8) or modern hideousness (new Focus, Sebring, Challenger) and one marvels that its design language was ever abandoned.

Wow, simply stunning! I could just imagine a new Toro built as a platform mate to the Camaro; the proportions are just about right stylewise.

Man, how did Olds go from this to oblivion? Sad.
