1969 Eldorado Article
Here is the link to a brief 1969 Eldorado feature:http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/wheels/car.asp?CarID=113 Eldorado owners were among the most loyal in the industry, in fact, of any manufactured product. Cadillac designers should update the model, and re-introduce it, to re-capture some of the enthusiasm for Cadillac, similar to those models that made them great! The design of the '67 to '70 Eldorados was compelling then, and it still is. This Nutmeg Firemist with Flax Vinyl Roof and Flax Leather Interior looks as striking as it did when new. Escape the "jelly-bean-look" and bring back style! |

Re: 1969 Eldorado Article
The new CTS coupe would be the spiritual successor to the Eldorado. If it ever makes it to show rooms

Re: 1969 Eldorado Article
Definitely more stylish than anything on the road today! But I know from experience, that 472 ci V8 guzzles gas to the tune of 10 mpg. It's a beautiful car, but it's almost too nice for a daily driven "one-car" owner.

Re: 1969 Eldorado Article
back in the day, I wanna say '71, my dad bought a new Sedan Deville (or so a 4 door Deville) with the 472. He can't remember what the mileage was (lol didn't matter back then) but he said it wasn't bad for such a big motor

I have cutback driving my Eldorado not because gas is expensive...but rather because I spent a lot of time at gas stations...although that gave me more time to talk with people ![]()

Re: 1969 Eldorado Article
Check out this pristine 1970 Eldorado Coupe in San Mateo Red with Black Vinyl Roof and Black Leather interior--anyone would emotionally connect with this styling, both interior and exterior:
http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...do/912782.html Cadillac stylists need to draw from this rich heritage of a "milestone" design to create fantastic automobiles once again! Bring back an updated Eldorado! (Forget the alphabet-soup names--no one knows where any of the models "slot" in the line-up, and there is no established recognition for many of these new iterations. An updated Eldorado would bring customers in, just like the updated Camaro did! Just keep this 1970 model in mind when planning it!) |
