G-8 Letter to Mr. Lutz
Jay S. Westfall
6217 Spoon Bill Katy, TX 77493 jaywestfall@att.net 281-391-6804 April 16, 2007 Mr. Robert A. Lutz Vice Chairman Product Development General Motors 300 Renaissance Center Mail Code 482-C39-B40 PO Box 300 Detroit, MI 48265-3000 Re: Pontiac G-8 Introduction at Chicago Dear Mr. Lutz, Recently, I went to the Pontiac web site and viewed the video of this product introduction from the show. To tell you the truth, I got a big lump in my throat, and to finally see it drove me to tears. Finally, some one got it right and had the chutzpah to put out a real performance car from GM’s performance division! You probably don’t want to hear this, but I have been plowing money into my ’84 Bonneville (bored SBC, Art Carr 200R4 transmission and 3.42 Auburn posi) while I have been waiting for GM to produce the kind of vehicle I would replace this car with. Of course, it had to be the Pontiac brand for me. Now just change the dart back to red like it should be, please. My only question to you is, after I take delivery of the G-8 can I drive the Bonneville to you in Detroit and drop off the keys for the trade? Hey, next year it becomes a “classic” according to TXDOT. Sincerely, Jay S. Westfall

Re: G-8 Letter to Mr. Lutz
Big Bob
Big Round Building MoTown Dear Jay, Thanks for the hoorahs. Two items: Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Here at GM we have a humorous habit of talking out of our arses and then changing horses midstream. But hey, I get paid the same! While we at General Motors appreciate the kind and generous offer of your old Bonneville, I suggest you donate your car to a local charity such as the Humane Society or the Conglomeration of Disappointed GM Supporters. Please watch the airwaves for more of my grandiose and delusional press conferences and hyped up speeches. I do enjoy talking! Have a nice day! --Bob da G man ![]()
