Unhappy CONSTRAINTS? on ordering 07' Tahoe's

I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on why I'm being told that my 07 Tahoe i ordered 5 weeks ago, my not ever get built, due to some options that i ordered being on constraint, being the DVD-Nav system(UVB),Rearview camera(UVC),20" Polished wheels(RCS) and this was all ordered on the LT3 package? Dealer tells me that GM states they are only building and shipping LT1's, I do not buy that. Dealer contacted their Gm rep and said theirs nothing he can do. Was originally told it would be 6-12 weeks to arrive, which i expected to wait the full 12, but its been 5 weeks and the order has not even been pulled yet, and they tell me they do not have a clue when or ever it will be pulled & built. I do not understand why they will not build a PRE-SOLD latest & greatest hyped up $50K Truck!!! Any help would greatly be appreciated-Thanks,JASON </IMG>

Re: CONSTRAINTS? on ordering 07' Tahoe's

The dealer are probably telling you this because they really can't tell you it will be built for sure. Sometimes it takes a while for an order to be preferenced and get a build date. I believe that most likely your Tahoe will eventually be built. The question is , when?

The good news is that is hasn't been rejected. From time to time, certian options might take a while to be built. The percentage of Tahoes with the LT3 trim and the options you have ordered is small. Good-Luck and keep patient, I think you'll be fine.

Ya, they said that they were only building 99 Tahoe's nationwide in the LT3 package and the options I ordered, but I can not believe all 99 are Pre-sold units!!

People begging to spend $50 grand and GM can't deliver the goods & Delphi hasn't gone on strike yet.

Re: CONSTRAINTS? on ordering 07' Tahoe's

I'm curious, why didn't the dealer just try to locate a 2007 Tahoe for you? I'm sure there is one within 250 or so miles of where you're at. Actually, there is one equipped just like you want at my local dealer (not sure if its the right color though).

Re: CONSTRAINTS? on ordering 07' Tahoe's

My dealer has tried very hard to find one, there are none around, closest thing is a LTZ with close to the right options but not perfect, and also has stuff i do not want and stickers at $3k more. Thats the whole object of ordering the one I did. I do not want to have to settle for for something close, plus pay more $ for it

Wow, I think that is just pathetic. They should be coming personally to your front door and throwing roses at your feet for ordering that thing, instead of saying "Wow, wouldn't that be a sweet truck IF we we able to build it. I guess we can all dream, huh?"

I know most of us are GM fans, and we try to support them, but BOY, do they give us plenty of reasons to get mad.

Go to http://fastlane.gmblogs.com and let GM know. Leave the message in the comments section. They say they will deal with stuff like that. Tell them what else you are looking at.

Yes, GM seems to always find a way to screw something up, one way or another.

Re: CONSTRAINTS? on ordering 07' Tahoe's

Hmm...The Owner of www.dennysautodiagnosis.com has a 07 Tahoe. (His name is Denny..Duh!) I do not know his actual package number but, it has EVERYTHING on it. The Nav,Backup camera, etc. He ordered it in January. It is a beautiful truck.

Maybe he got in on that 99 total crap. I know this man is fussy when it comes to what he drives. He likes all the creature comforts. Sad to hear that when car companies will not build what you want. This is not new.

I will try to post some pics of it and get the Trim level of this Tahoe.

Re: CONSTRAINTS? on ordering 07' Tahoe's

The way the Tahoe's are selling I'd be suprised any dealer would be willing to do a dealer trace unless they were guaranteed another Tahoe in return. Plus, like I said, the trim level with the options he needs are more rare. There probably isn't even one close by to dealer trade.

The sales of the Tahoe are higher than GM expected and GM expected it to do very well. You can't blame GM for the wait. GM are rolling them out as fast as they can. When there is such a high demand for the product you might have to wait a little while to get yours.

I'm really suprised to hear the negative comments. Do you people understand how this works. They never told him that they couldn't do it. I think he will get the truck that he wants but it will take time. He has to wait in line like everyone else. This is no different with any other car company with a hot product.

2500...............Check out http://www.wheels.com
Go to the industry reference thread................

It will show any and all production hold ups/changes/deletions
etc. for ALL automakers..............

This is just another issue with the "Just in time" assembly methods used nowadays...............geo

BTW: The nav./dvd/etc. set up is indeed on hold along
with the side airbags..............

Re: CONSTRAINTS? on ordering 07' Tahoe's

GM has a long history of not allowing customers to order options that GM advertises and/or furnishes information about to their authorized dealers.

I ordered a 1999 Corvette in June 1998. I was unable to order the power telescoping steering column because the option was on "constraint".

It is an example of poor planning and poor business.

Good luck.
