I don't think it is even that spoken english has lower standards. "Should of" is obviously the incorrect interpretation of the spelling of the contraction form of "should have". Once again, not lower standards, just a mistake or a case of simply not understanding basic grammar.

Re: Camaro should of waited

The essence of communication is getting the message across rather than getting it 100% right. It is good to let people know correct grammar but it is not on to decry them for not knowing. That is the fault of the system that educated them usually.
I have noticed that my own written English (grammar and spelling) deteriorated whilst I was in China mainly because I was using more simple English wherever possible. I am lot more tolerable of things now.

Re: Camaro should of waited

GM should not have waited to launch the Camaro. Actually, they waited long enough IMO, like 4 years. . .

They are also waiting too much to replace the Impala and the Cobalt, wasting all the precious showroom traffic that the Camaro is generating in Chevy dealers. The Camaro will not save GM but could be of great help if Chevrolet had anything else sellable. . .

By the time the new product comes the Camaro will be old news . . .

So the people who misuse the English language are victims of their schooling system? How about personal responsibility?
And when you wrote tolerable, did you mean tolerant?

You have got to be from the East Coast with this attitude. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Oh and I'm sorry you had to waste your precious time with my poor grammar, what was I thinking?

ON TOPIC - I agree with Simon 100%

Re: Camaro should of waited

Wow, should have scrapped the fugly thing altogether. Another slab sided gm wanna be pony car.
At least they finally put some curves into the Vettes.
Oh ya, putting curves into body panels means dies/molds that have 3D contours which means higher costs.
Killing it several years ago wasn't bad enough, now we are saddled with another un-inspired slab sided pile of crap just to try and catch up with Ford and the new Challenger. When I first saw the prelim pics a couple years ago, I held out hope but in true GM fashion, the beancounters got the best of them.
Someone put a bullet in GM's head please, before they fade into anonymity.

Re: Camaro should of waited

Off topic: Yes us East Coasters have a superior intellect to all others. Especially us Bostonians.
Lets us not dwell on incorrect grammar, but help those less fortunate than us to have such a superior education.
Carry on.

Wouldn't you mean "we" East Coasters instead of "us?" as in
Yes, we East Coasters have superior intellects to all others.

You have got to be kidding me. The production model is 95% of the concept.
