Re: Meet Your 2009 Saturn Lineup

nsap, you're a little wrong about the Astra. It is receiving changes for 2009.

According to GM Media:
  • New tan cloth seat and door inserts available on all models
  • Advanced audio package available on five-door XE model
  • Oil pan heater available on all models
  • Date on information screen organized by month/day/year vs. day/month/year
  • Twelve-hour clock replaces 24-hour clock
  • Saturn badge moves from rear bright bar onto upper painted surface
  • Revised 16-inch wheel cover design on five-door XE model (interim change)
  • Polar White replaces Olympic White and Quicksilver replaces Star Silver (interim change)

Re: Meet Your 2009 Saturn Lineup

I thought SATURN moved up the ladder to a more upscale company but the Aura is not there yet! Why would they make a 4-cylinder XR, and not keep the XE V6 it started as the first economy company to make a standard V6 in it class why not keep it as an option (why make customers go to a XR for the V6) I do still like the Aura just the options are the problem (Still doesn't have an Navigation System). I know gas is getting higher and higher. I love this company a lot but lately they have been making some bad choices in IMO. When I first saw the Astra it made me sick to my stomach, I hated the car. It is now starting to grow on me but only in the color black it looks it best. SATURN might lose me soon, but we will see what else they have down the road. It seems like when SATURN starting sharing parts with the rest of GM they changed. It's no more "Different Kind of Car, Different Kind of Company" The rest of the vehicles (Outlook, Vue, & Sky) are good looking and great. I just hate the the sunroof in the vue took so long to become an option.

Re: Meet Your 2009 Saturn Lineup

The Aura in the picture is an 08 model. The 09's foolishly lose there nice chrome bodyside molding and it doesn't even appear as an option. That and elimination of the 3500, which can see as high as 35 on trips in my Malibu, now act as deal breakers for me for the 09 model year.

Re: Meet Your 2009 Saturn Lineup

I just read on SaturnFans.com that the 2009 Aura's also lose their triple-laminated front windshield, laminated front door glass (making them noticably more noisier than an 08), and that the turn signal sound has gone from a nice, muted tone to a loud, clicking, "cheap" sounding indicator. This supposedly affects the 09 Malibu as well.

GM de-contenting at it's best. In Car and Driver, they specifically mentioned the expensive sounding turn signal indicator in the 08 Malibu has one of the small pieces that helped contribute to making it feel like a more-expensive car.

Can anyone confirm this?

Re: Meet Your 2009 Saturn Lineup

The 2009 SATURN Line-up still doesn't do anything for me to purchase a new SATURN. I might just buy used from now up to 2003 model year, and change brands, or maybe companies completely.
