I concur, but it seems the more displacement the engine has the lower the city mileage will be. However this upcoming BAS+ might solve this issue.

I know the DI 3.6 will be available in the Lamdas but Saturn and the other GM divisions should make the3.6 DI engine available in every car and SUV including the Aura/Malibu/G6 to the Vue/Equinox SUVs.

Come on GM !!!!

Not quite. My 3800 LeSabre averages 18-19mpg in city traffic. My LS2 GTO averages the same with two more cylinders and a whole lot more power for the fuel burned.

Thats impressive, but for a heavy vehicle like the Vue that seems impossible without some kind of hybrid powertrain. However, people with the 2008 Malibu LTZ 3.6L seem to achieve similar fuel economy in the city.

While they are at it they should put Direct Injection standard on every 4 cylinder engine they make. The new Malibu with the 4 cylinder and 6 speed auto already gets like 32 MPG. With DI it will make another 10 HP and probably get an extra 2 MPG.
