VIDEO: It's a Buick, beyotch!

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/08/10/v...buick-beyotch/

A creative Buick dealer is celebrating the brand's performance in J.D. Power's 2007 Vehicle Dependability Study that was released yesterday, in which it tied Lexus for the top spot, by putting together an amusing little viral that stars the Buick Lucerne CST SEMA concept from 2006. The car was prepared by Stainless Steel Brakes Corp. of Clarence, NY, and was one of many Lucernes GM sent to the show last year. You can see the full inventory of upgrades along with the aforementioned video created by Alfred Matthews Motorsports after the jump. Believe us, it's worth it, beyotch!

funny how Buick and B.... go together quite nicely.

I don't think profanity will attract Lexus customers.

Dumb. They should be trying to exude class. That doesn't do it.

Re: VIDEO: It's a Buick, beyotch!

It's unfortunate that, other than the quite nice Enclave, Buick is left to deliver the message of superior longer-term quality with dated vehicles like the LaCrosse and Lucerne. Somehow, I think it will leave a mixed feeling with consumers.

Then again, if Buick were to choose just the Enclave, I think Buick would have a compelling message for consumers. Great style, great powertrain, great interior accommodations, great warranty, and great quality, all at a reasonable price.

I agree with those who believe that "It's a Buick, beyotch!" is not the best tagline to peddle a near-luxury marque like Buick; Buick is better than that.

Mercury is high on the list. Maybe they should have a competing tagline: "It's a Mercury mutha f'er!"

Maybe some beancounters can combine two taglines to reach two different customer segments at once. Let me know if this works...

I hope someone has another link to it. I searched everywhere but I can't find it.

I wonder if Buick had YouTube pull it?

Re: VIDEO: It's a Buick, beyotch!

I'd prefer the scenario of the Lexus driver being an uppity woman who just cut me off while talking on her cell phone... so I can then pull up beside her and yell in my darkest, bitchiest voice, ''it's a Buick, WHORE.''

Seriously, though... I agree with some of the previous comments.... that some guy yelling gangsta-style ''Beeyotch'' at a Lexus isn't exactly the class level that Buick is targeting.

So a local dealer came up with this? Maybe its management needs some image training on the Buick brand. Actually, I'm not sure what brand that sort of advertising would fit...

Re: VIDEO: It's a Buick, beyotch!

Maybe the class will be in the way you say it, or perhaps who says it. For example, if you put the woman who does the Monex ads trying to get you to buy gold, and have her saying to a similarly upper crust looking woman in a Lexus, "It's a Buick, beyotch!!", maybe it would work. Just an idea.
