If you had to pick a philosophical "father" to this car, wouldn't it be a LaSabre? GM threw away a best-selling name, and I think they would still be better off with the LaSabre name on it. And a flagship should be Invicta or Park Avenue.
I think it's
Century + Regal -> LaCrosse
LeSabre + Park Avenue -> Lucerne

Re: Meet Your 2010 Buick Lineup

2/3 of this line up is awesome. 1/3 is passable. I had to spend a little time in a Lucerne and it's not awful, just not great. The LaCrosse, I think, is going to be a big hit for them and bring in younger buyers.

The "New" GM will have it's work cut out for it to convince anyone under 60 to buy a Buick.
All depends on how it it priced. i have a friend who works at Fairfax (KC) where the Lacrosse is built who says that the initial pictures of the car really don't do justice to what the actual car looks like. I hope he's right.

The LaCrosse looks great! Just get rid of the wood interior (sorry .. not a fan of wood trim in any car).

That darn Lucerne is a dud in a terd basket compared to the rest of what is pictured. I say axe that pile or make it have a more attractive design.

Maybe some nice strong metal peices. That feel real.

Re: Meet Your 2010 Buick Lineup

that is the problem with GM you don't phase it out you renew and update, most people are not car buffs like us ...GM has destroyed their brands by constantly changing the customers comfort zone with brands.....cts better in second generation,impala,camaro,corvette...now fast forward to cutlass, regal, seville, bonneville, grand prix....well all people don't live cars everyday but they do buy them...and people have a certain comfort zone......Gm loses customers when that comfort zone is lost....anyone listening ...now go pay a research company ridiculous amounts of money to come to the same common sense answer

Gm needs to work on Buick's lineup a lot more. The Lucerne needs a major redesign and name change to Park Avenue. And since they are going to be bringing back the Regal add a coupe and possibly a convertable to the lineup.

i really don't understand why everyone is bashing the lucerne, I mean I does look a bit dated but It's not ugly and it actually looks quiet nice at some angles. All they really need to do to redesign it is to make the front proportions look right and lower the car. Why should they kill it so soon? It sell well, I see them everywhere in Ontario, Canada and isn't that what really matters in a car company?

Yea, I see quite a few Lucys here in Indy. True, most are driven by 80 year olds, but a lot, nonetheless. I don't see many LaCrosses, which is not a surprise. The Lucerne is better looking and bigger than the 1st gen LaCrosse.

It's a fairly nice looking car, I wish they could updated it with the new Buick design language and call it Park Avenue.

That would definitely keep the 80 year olds happy.

Re: Meet Your 2010 Buick Lineup

Hey everyone.

First post in a long time.

Does anyone know what the Buick's equivalent to the Camaro was called? I have googled up and down and didn't really find a solid answer. I believe it was "gran (something)" I'm sure somebody here knows this offhand.

I'd love to see a concept/prototype of this for 2010/11. What do you guys think?

Cheers,
Chris
