And that same Lucerne likely costs MORE then the 6.0L 361HP V8 G8 GT which only comes with a 6 speed automatic. Which would you prefer GM offer 2010 customers?

Whatever they can sell profitably so that they can become a fully independent company again and pay back their government loans.

The G8 is too cheap for its own good. The program would probably make more sense with the fatter margins they could get out of a Buick Statesman to replace the Lucerne.

Not interested. Maybe they need to bring the G8 to Buick so they can have something interesting.

This statement here hit the nail right on the head.

These guys who keep talking about killing Buick or comparing it to Pontiac vehicles have no clue what they're talking about. When Buick says they're trying to appeal to a slightly younger crowd, they're not really talking about kids in their early 20s. They're talking about 30 somethings, 40 somethings, and baby boomers.
Which in fact is actually a much larger group of people who might actually value having some kind of luxury in their vehicles and who are also more likely to be willing and able to afford to pay for that extra luxury. That's who they're going for.

They're trying to shake off the looks that appealed to the now 80+ crowd, but they're not necessarily shooting for people who's main priority are big engines and pimped out exteriors and who don't think luxury features have any sort of value or justify paying any extra money at all for.

I agree. I had to look several times between the pictures of the LaCrosse and Lucerne to see if the Lucerne offered anything different. Almost the exact same size and interior space. Like everyone else says, the Lucerne is in the line for... Fleets?

I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but Buick needs the G8 for exactly your reasons. Call it Wildcat or Electra or something that will strike a chord with the 50 to 60 something boomer. This is the audience that Buick needs to get right with. Get them out of their boring Avalon and into a nice luxury sedan with some good performance that will remind them of the Buicks of yore.

Currently saving up for something, but not sure what yet. Wants varies from an early '60s Buick to '72 GMC to a '09 G8 GXP.

Re: Meet Your 2010 Buick Lineup

The Lacrosse is a masterpiece if you ask me. Buick is on the right path. The Lucrene is going to be history soon. The Lucrene lost customers when it was named. Should have called it the same boring name Le Sabre! The Enclave is Awesome, but needs an interior update in the next year or so. Buick is back to making Beautiful cars and to all of you calling them lame go buy one of those Toyota hot rods!! HAHAHA!!!

GS, GS, GS.....

Ditch the old man names, for pete's sake.
I am old enough to remember the Wildcat, wanted an Electra. But that was then. I do not want to see anything driving down the road, saddled with any of that. Don't call it a Calias, Delta 88, Park Ave., Catalina, Cutlass, Special or any of those names that were around in the 50's, 60's and should have died in the 70's.

Because he must display his complete bitterness over Pontiac's death to us all over and over.

Re: Meet Your 2010 Buick Lineup

I hope my wife likes the new LaCrosse. She will test drive one and then a new Taurus if she decides to go with a sedan.

Equninox would go against Edge if we go two row crossover.

A lambda gets the nod without a test-drive if we need three rows.

She discounts Chrysler as a competitor at all right now.

She is 33.
