GMI's Regal Resource
GMI's Regal Resource
One thread with all the information/photos. www.gminsidenews.com October 16, 2009 ![]() Picture: Official photo of 2011 North American Regal. First things first, read the below articles to come up to speed with the 2011 Buick Regal: GM Announces Buick Regal For US Buick Regal Shows Face...On Facebook Regal to Have Sport Model, Potentially Named GS The upcoming Buick Regal is based heavily off of the Opel Insignia midsize sedan that is sold throughout Europe. Buick picked up the Insignia back in mid 2008 and launched the Regal on the Chinese market and so far the car has been quite successful there. Now GMNA has decided to get in on the action and bring the Regal to North America. The NA Regal will be built in North America, however it will follow extremely close to the Chinese Regal. Expect our Regal to have nearly the same interior as the Chinese car as GM has stated numerous times that Buick's Chinese and North America lineups would be converging. One difference we have noticed between the North American and Chinese cars is that the NA version appears to have a different grille. This is likely due to strict pedestrian crash regulations in China. North American Regal Powertrains:

We anticipate that the car will follow closely to the Opel Insignia OPC design-wise. This, however, has NOT been confirmed. Opel Insignia OPC Photos ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: GMI's Regal Resource
I heard a rumor the Camaro line in Oshawa is being updated at this time to produce the Regal. As I understand it, the Camaro line is a flexible production facility, and several different vehicles can be built once the tooling is in place. Presumably, pre-production vehicles will be built at this time for testing purposes.

Re: GMI's Regal Resource
Could this be a major game changer for Buick?
It is lighter than the A4, BMW 128, and acura tsx plus has as much or more power (depending on engine choices).
