Re: Buick LaCrosse Super in the Works
This sounds really nice. I hope he regular LaCrosse gets updated too.

I look forward to seeing it when they have pictures out. Is the V8 going to be the 5.3L that is in the Impala/Gran Prix? If so, it will have the displacement-on-demand.

Taking "cues" from hot show cars and grafting them on mediocre sellers rarely works out well, especially with FWD V8s in cars that are supposed to be refined. I would much rather GM taken the money and redone the exterior sheetmetal of all Lacrosses - then put a DI version of the 3.6, or even a boosted or bored out version of 2.8T under the hood, called it gran sport and left the super until the lacrosse can really be a "super" car. I can see the headline now...."Lacrosse Super - not so Super" |

Back to the Fifties. I always thought that "Super", in Buick speak, meant small wheelbase with big engine. That would apply here. Maybe a little nicer interior too.

This thing will be priced out of this world, I see it happening already. As it is the LaCrosse CXS is a rip off just to get the 3.6L upgrade!
Surprise me GM. |

I had heard somewhere else that this car was a go for 2007-08, that this version was just going to be and early preview, though if the car was totally redesigned like the China LaCrosse, then it might be worth waiting a little longer. |

Buick needs revolution not evolution.
I just read the review of the newest Hyundai Azera, the car looks cheap outside and inside, but the cabin in black color looks better than Lacrosse interior anyway. I would take Lacrosse any day,but potential buyers don't care about the rich history of Buick as I do. |

The Chinese Lacross, the mini-Maybach, i wouldn't mind seeing a Buick like that here.
A front wheel drive V8 makes as much sense as a Chinese...BUICK! Give it a "hightech" V6 GM, like the rest of it's competitors.

Re: Buick LaCrosse "Super" to begin making rounds starting on March 28
shouldn't be too hard to drop the LS4 in there just like they do to it's brother the Grand Prix. Add some new interior bits. They could probably do that next month if they wanted.
Too bad it will still have a 4matic. That's probably the part that will take "in the next few years" to fix. Oh yeah, and RWD / AWD. |

With that said..seeing a car in a couple of years...2007, possibly 2008 that is likely to cost over $30,000 with STILL a 4 speed automatic would be very embarassing for GM. I hope it doesnt' happen, that they at least find a way to get the 6 speed autos into these cars sooner. |
