Yeah, and if anybody ever notices what they tend to do after a few years. Harsh climates like here in the sun soaked desert southwest tend to rot the plastic out and not long they're all faded and ugly. Which is why I'm not too fond of them either, even if they do look ok.
They sure have and I hope they don't drag their heels in getting it over here too. The size of this isn't too bad, and I also am one who really likes it.
Hmmm I have been considering an Encore... I wonder if this will stay in the price bracket/range shown in article 25K-35K is right in maybe slightly higher than an Encore, if I could get one with the sporty wheels and a few less features and 2.0T and FWD in pearl white for 30K I would be really interested - I would even give up "leather" that I would get in an Encore. Wonder when it will hit the states?
Looks very generic and Hyundai like. No wonder GM is running those commercials where nobody can tell what a Buick looks like. In the ad, everybody is stumped trying to find the Buick in a parking garage, on a street, or in the neighbor's driveway. This car is further explanation of why that is happening.
I kinda agree with you actually. While I think it looks 'above average', the Buick design language is becoming a bit old and lost in the shuffle. There doesnt' really seem to be anything distinct about it. Kinda has the look along the lines of a 'nice' Toyota or Hyudai product, not a near luxury vehicle.
A beautiful looking CUV, can someone remind me again why China is getting this vehicle and North America isn't? This would sell very well here, in fact my wife saw it and said she wants one.
I have long been bemused by these tall station wagons and little interested in them. They do sell well and are important to GM's business, so I have lessened my criticism. De gustibus non disputandum.
I wouldn't just put on different rims. I'd put on the entire wheels.
It ain't ugly. It ain't purty. It has all the gimmicks that Buick THINKS make a Buick plus gobs of tacky garnish. And if this follows all recent Buicks on the inside (except for the tastefully understated Opel Regal) the interior will be a wretched mess of all gimmicks known to designers right down to yards of dog crap brown accents thrown against death grey.
Yet, with all that, Buick is probably the best division of Total Recall Motors even if every baby has a different daddy. And you'd never be better off spending the extra money for a Cadihack - in fact if you've bought a Cadihack that isn't from the 1960's and early 1970's recently, you are an idiot.
I love it. I would buy one for my wife if they were offered here. She is thinking Equinox for her next vehicle, but I'm sure she'd take this instead if it were available.
Yet another soft-road SUV that's been lowered so far for the soccer moms that it can no longer do any form of light-duty off-road - I do despair at car makers, but GM isn't alone in this !
Modern-Day SUV = CUV, less capacity and utility than a minivan at a significantly higher price, get use to it, they all have them, and they print money for the manufacturers.
Bingo, the Enclave is just too big (and too pricey) for many, the Encore too small, if Buick's pricing doesn't scare the masses away, this thing will sell like hotcakes.
That's one of the acknowledged weaknesses of the current Terrain/Equinox twins versus Escape, CRV, Rav4, in spite of GM models longer wheelbases and overall lenghts.
Another generic looking CUV/SUV/whatever 4-wheeled means of transportation. Very impressive. This is not a dig against Buick or GM, but that all of these things look the same to me. I hope before the end of my lifetime, and certainly waaaay before that, this ****ing SUV/CUV fad will go away.
Only if you are a vampire with an infinite life span. Blazer / Jimmy were lighting up the sales charts in the '80s
