Re: Buick Debuts two More LaCrosse Commercials

I have to say especially the first one, "Push" really showcases how much of a competitor for Lexus this car really is, with all the advanced technology and more uplevel cabin.

I'm impressed. Let's hope the Regal delivers just as well!

Re: Buick Debuts two More LaCrosse Commercials

I've seen these already, they aired a week or two ago on a college football or NFL game. Does anyone have a link to the new GMC commercial where it tows the Ram and Tundra out of the mud?

Re: Buick Debuts two More LaCrosse Commercials

Very Apple iPhone/iPod Touch-ish. Very well done.

The Push one is great for the nerdy types who wonder if it's got various gadgets. The Smooth one is great to comment on the quiet and the suspension. Adaptive suspension, something Lexus doesn't have. Nice.

And it doesn't hurt that the Lacrosse is a looker.

I saw the Smooth commercial a few weeks ago, I think it's OK. I prefer the Touch commercial.

You mean this one? It's great, too.

*sigh*...I'm so proud of Buick and GM. Great job marketing team and Bob Lutz!

I hope they constantly update the LaCrosse with new features every 1-2 years to keep it at the top of its class.

And I hope they address the 3.0L engine problem if it's as underpowered and inefficient (compared to the 3.6) as some reviews say.

BAHAHAHA! I was in a focus group for the second one. I see they didn't take ANY of my suggestions regarding the grating music selection.

Re: Buick Debuts two More LaCrosse Commercials

Honestly, didn't like either one.
The car looks great and its better then the silly photo shoot ads.... but neither seemed real effective.

I thought the swipe at Lexus was pretty lame considering almost nobody will know the advantages of the Buick suspension.... they didn't bother to explain it.

The GMC Sierra commercial above is a lot better... even if I'd probably never buy a pick up.

Re: Buick Debuts two More LaCrosse Commercials

I didn't like any of the two. They only focused on packages but didn't say whether they were standard. They didn't say anything about the engines, the drive train, the standard (safety) features - basically anything someone who buys a car intent on keeping it for more than a couple of years would be interested in (especially if it costs a pretty penny).

The commercials made it look like it was a new trendy gadget that you buy because it's cool and new and has something some other gadget doesn't and that you can just as simply discard as soon as something better comes out.

Also I find the "Smooth Ride" commercial as very ambiguous. Just how big is the pothole supposed to be so that you wouldn't notice it in your new Buick with adaptive suspension drive thingy that they wouldn't really say much about, except that you won't find it in an IS350 (I dislike it when commercials resort to the "our car has this option which you won't find in a -insert competitor's car name here-"). It's too open to interpretation to offer any sort of solid data.

So overall I find the commercials as uninformative, possibly misleading and one sided. I don't think they do it justice.
It's a pity really because just looking at the car makes me want to like it, but I can't unless they start promoting the things that really matter in a car with luxury ambitions.

Re: Buick Debuts two More LaCrosse Commercials

Both are well done and further serve to validate my faith that the General would again be great. I favour "Push" because I think a lot of us value tech. "Smooth" reminded me too much of those ads that Ford put out in the1970's that touted the smooth ride of their full size cars. Maybe it's an age thing but it seemed like fromage to me.

Re: Buick Debuts two More LaCrosse Commercials

Well Mr. Lutz has delivered the "steak" as he would say. Each commercial makes a point of the features of the car and how it stands out amongst the competition. All the time, giving reasonably long shots of the car itself moving about and letting the design of the car "seal the deal" so to speak.

I'm just as happy at what I did not see. "72-months-interest-free-great-lease-rates-we'll-pay-you-to-take-it...."

Very good.

All I heard was quite this, push that, followed by lots of blah, blah, blah. It has the look, but it lacks the substance. Either the script or the announcer needs changed IMO, 'cause I ain't the slightest bit moved.

Thumbs up Re: Buick Debuts two More LaCrosse Commercials

These were excellent ads... The kind that has been lacking at GM for far too long. The folks who are the targeted audience for the LaCrosse will understand exactly what is being promoted here. 35-50 year old urban/suburban professionals love technology and a smooth ride. They relate to poor road conditions in the cities of the U.S.... On top of that, the ads show off the LaCrosse's beauty, as the car is photographed fantastically. Well done...
