Re: Autoblog Review: 2010 Buick LaCrosse CXL AWD
No, that's what I had heard initially, but after speaking to some of the engineers who worked on LaCrosse, the CXL model is expected to be the high-volume seller, so AWD was packaged with that trim level. I would expect AWD to become available with the 3.6L CXS soon though.

Re: Autoblog Review: 2010 Buick LaCrosse CXL AWD
I agree with those who are against the stripper base models and smaller V6. Buick is advertising this car heavily and pitting it directly against the Lexus ES350. If GM wishes to truly compete against that car, then it needs the LaCrosse to be a single upscale model with the 3.6L standard. AWD would be nice as would a true hybrid, but skip the 2.4L I4, 3.0L V6, the steel wheels, regular headlamps, etc. There should be no need for CX, CXL, and CXS designations; that's why there is a Malibu available from Chevy (and a Camry available from Toyota!). There could be option packages available (navigation system, high end audio/video, performance handling, etc.) but not separate models. The way it is, it can too easily perceived as a fleet vehicle. That's not good. So far the only one I've seen on the street was a base model driven by a septuagenarian female. I realize that that's no clear indicator but that cannot be Buick's target audience.

With Regal coming, I think the 2.4 and 3.0 need to find its way out of the car.
