The redesigned 2018 Buick Enclave will be sleeker and more muscular than the current version, spy photos shot in the Detroit area indicate.
The exterior of the large crossover is less rigid and bulbous than the first generation and features Buick’s new signature styling that debuted on the popular Avenir concept sedan at the 2015 Detroit auto show.
Opel is planning a larger SUV. I guess something that would compare with the redesigned VW Touareg.
This larger one pictured above could maybe share a platform with the new GMC Acadia/Buick Enclave.
(Which means this could be a preview of the next Enclave?)
It's supposed to be Traverse sized. Acadia/XT5 & Traverse/Enclave are your platform partners. With Blazer set to join (when will it be shown?) the Acadia platform, it's also expected an XT7 join the Traverse platform. Good grief, there are too damn many CUVs/SUVs/tall wagons/whatever out there.
Hopefully the illustration is a good indication. I see quite a large sweep-spear on the rear haunches which is very different than the illustration. The wheels on the one in the photo are a little small. Come on New York Auto Show!
It has been reported that the XT7 may be build at Detroit/Hamtramck. If so, it could mean a switch to the Omega platform and perhaps a slight delay in introduction.
While similar in spots, it still looks like two different vehicles. The entire rear is different, even the glass. The front facia is definitely different. The American version looks more bubbly than the Opel illustrations. The hood is different too. Plus, the overall size is different. The Enclave mule is big. In fact, it looks a lot like the current one. Rear view mirrors are posted in different spots. I have a feeling the Enclave is going to look a lot different than the illustration with only **maybe** the headlights and taillights looking similar.
Uh, to me the illustrations are way off from the actual vehicle. Different mirror, class, character lines, hood, fog lamps, etc. Hard to see what is the same aside the grill.
...and even the grill is wider and covers more area on the actual vehicle vs the illustration. Nothing to me other than it being a crossover resembles the actual car.
I like the illustrations but it probably wont look that snazzy. It would also be nice if the rear haunches ended up like the illustrations too, ditching the curved rear quarter window look. I think i'll go drop some acid and stare at the prototype for a while now.
I haven't read anything about Opel getting the Enclave. The illustration is probably of the Grandland X or the XT3-related model mentioned in the XT3 spy thread.
You are correct. The Enclave has always been exclusive to Buick. There is no reason to believe that this will change anytime soon. The Enclave is much too large to be a viable Opel product.
Has a big bulky rear quarter panel styling. Did the Cadillac designers of the CTS, XTS and CT6 get reassigned to Buick? Ugh! No buy if this what the new Enclave actually will look in the illustrations.
Yeah, other than the headlights & grille, the illustration is much different than the actual vehicle.
First off, the illustration is way smaller than the actual, and the lines on the side of the illustration are much different than the actual. With the biggest difference being the rear side windows and sweep spear.
