Re: 2011 Regal Shows up on Facebook...Again

Typical GM. Keep showing us a car that isn't available here or no where near ready then introduce it 2 or 3 years later when everyone is sick of it or the competition has passed it by. They need to get there heads out of there rear end on the powerplant choices though. 4 cylinder Buick luxury cars are going to be a big turn off to many consumers in a mid size car, especially when Chevy's own Malibu has a V6 available on most trim levels other than the basic LS model. The SIDI 3.0 liter V6 would be the most logical candidate for this lighter application.

How do you know the Regal won't have a V6 option?

WOOOO!!!!! It looks amazing. Im proud to say that I am 21 and I dream of owning Buicks. Heck, I am so so hyped to see the performance Regal! Im assuming GM will use the GS badge, but I would really love to see the return of the T-type. That name sounds super youthful, which is where buick is trying to go as of late. Either way.....I hope it looks just like the Insignia OPC!

Re: 2011 Regal Shows up on Facebook...Again

I hope it has a bigger trunk than the Lacrosse's

Here's some comparison of trunk size :
Chevrolet Aveo : 351 L
Toyota Echo/Yaris : 360 L
Honda Civic : 365 L
Buick Lacrosse : 377 L
Chevrolet Cobalt : 394 L
Kia Forte : 415 L
Lexus ES : 416 L
Toyota Camry : 426 L
Chevrolet Malibu : 427 L
Ford Fusion : 467 L
Chevrolet Impala : 527 L
Ford Taurus : 569 L

The LaCrosse has compact car trunk's size. I understand it has a superb fit and finish and wonderful sound insolation, but Toyota managed to make those adjustments to the ES (coming from the Camry) while losing only 10 liters of trunk size.

Re: 2011 Regal Shows up on Facebook...Again

While I agree with those here that think these "FAUX-VIRAL" videos are a bit forced and artificial, I did watch all 13 seconds of both.

I must say that the wheel design shown is fantastic. I like it very much. I'm assuming these are the larger, optional ones.

All the luxury manufacturers are downsizing powerplants. The Audis that used to have V8s have gone to sixes and the ones that were sixes are fours. The next generation BMW 3 series will have four cylinder engines for the U.S.. The next generation BMW 1 series will have 3 cylinder engines. Gas prices are only going to go up in the long run and many consumers will be looking for a frugal choice. I've heard that many are choosing the 4 cylinder Malibu over the V6 now that the 6 speed auto is behind it. I have no problem with 4s in the Regal as long as they offer adequate performance. I don't think that the LaCrosse should have one, though.
