Re: 2010 LaCrosse Coming To LAIAS; LaCrosse Name Official

So is this replacing both the current Lucerne and LaCrosse, or just a redesign for the current LaCrosse and they will be keeping the current Lucerne?

I think that most people would agree that the new Lacrosse is too small to replace the Lucerne, and that Buick absolutely needs a proper large Lucerne replacement. Aka Chinese Park Avenue. Soon.

Where are the people who were panicking about the black grill in the spy shot recently?

They're celebrating the fact that the production car won't have a black grille.

Shouldn't have panicked in the first place.

Anyways, good looking car, can't wait to see it in person.

Will GM keep the 5.3L V8 under the hood to keep it distinct from the Aura?

Camry, Corolla and Altima solution really hurt sales due to amazingly stupid names.

I think it is Buick name that makes a hard sell for most of the people and GM's trend to compete in blandness with Toyota.

Well, at least it's on a new platform (component set), the W platform is from 1992.

Invicta sounds like "convict" or "infection", or a combination. Does nothing for me. LaCrosse has been a cool name, wish they had never got rid of the Regal name, but now people are used to LaCrosse, so good they are keeping it.

Re: 2010 LaCrosse Coming To LAIAS; LaCrosse Name Official

As usual, no one can agree. Half the people say Invicta would be great, half say that it's just another unknown name, and the other half (wait, that's three halves!) say that that would be ruining a good name. Many think that they should keep the Lacrosse name because now it's known, the rest say that it's a stupid name that needs to be canned.

It's not all the time, but there are days where I feel for GM, as there is absolutely no way they can do right. The most important is that it be a good car... no matter what it's called there are people that will hate the name, so who really cares what it's called?

I just want to see some good production ready Lacrosse interior and exterior photos to make a judgment, and also to see how far the production design stray away from the concept.

As for the name I had hoped it would be named Invicta but so it goes.

It looks like a straight up foreign car. It doesn't really share anything with the rest of the Buicks. It is a nice improvement over the original but it could have been a lot better. (Riviera Concept?)

I will have to see what one looks like in full dress. Personally I think they lost too much of the Invicta when the productionalized it. I really wish GM would stop making show cars and saying you will be able to buy this when there is no chance that it will happen.

Yeah... ES350, now there's an inspiring name. Made all the difference in the world.

The one I looked at at the GM design dome a few weeks was stunning. Your going to be surprised, I was and I'm not a buick guy. Its more radical than you would expect. Its design is very cohesive with Enclave and the interior is totally Boss.
