2010 Buick LaCrosse Breaks Cover

2010 Buick LaCrosse Breaks Cover

Brenda Priddy’s team of spy shooters comes through with another set of crystal-clear images of a future Buick.

This 2010 Buick LaCrosse shows some significant changes up front with an all-new grille and a slightly more aggressive front fascia. The lower portion of the doors and rockers now have a bit more panache than the 2008 model, but still look conservative enough to keep Buick’s core supporters happy.

The 2010 Buick LaCrosse will ride on the new global epsilon II platform for front-drive vehicles and carries a code name of GMX353. Production is expected to begin at General Motors’ Fairfax assembly plant in February of 2009 and vehicles should arrive at dealerships shortly thereafter. Annual production should be between 65,000 and 75,000 units.

Here's hoping for the curves of the Enclave to be hidden under that camo!

Looks like a substantial car, which is what Buick historically represented. I wonder if it'll be displayed at one of the auto shows next year?

I hope they forgo the quad headlights with the new model.

Is this going to get the standard 3.6 or is there going to be a HO or DI version offered for it?

Needs a higher beltline, shorter side windows & bigger tree trunks--I mean A pillars.

Im wondering what the interior will look like considering how the Malibu's interior looks.

That's a good question. Would they offer a 4 cylinder model like they do on the Aura/Malibu?

Or will they offer the 3500VVT or the 2.8L V6 as a base engine and have you step up to the 3.6?

Honestly, if they were worried about image, etc. then I'd image going it along with the 3.6L on all variants would be the smarter move. And later down the line offer a hotted up version with a more powerful V6.

But that's just me...

Re: 2010 Buick LaCrosse Breaks Cover

The hood looks too short and tall, but that could be the camo

But then again, all those cars have "fart burners" on them. That "fart burner" ads 5-10HP to your car ;some of those small Hondas can whip a Vett off the line. (from anti-rice.com)
So 115hp+10hp=430hp, at least in ricerland

HFV6 on all would probably by the smartest IMHO, perhaps the upcoming 3.0L on the base model? I think it would be an interesting if they offered the 2.4L DI turbo 4 cyl if the NVH can be held to something appropriate for a Buick & MPG was improved over the 6's, but it probably wouldn't sell as well as a 6.

Is that sarcasm I detect?

Looks a lot like the new Malibu, suggesting that Epsilon II is just an evolution of the current Epsilon. Though that windshield might be raked even further back--return of the Chrysler LH, anyone?

I think we can safely assume that a turbo four will not be an option in a Buick.

It will sell like crazy if it's even close to as good as the new Malibu. Bob, get this out faster!

Re: 2010 Buick LaCrosse Breaks Cover

I don't care for it at all; the new Malibu's profile has a sleek silhouette about it, and the Aura's taller stance works on Epsilon; however, this new Regal (I don't care for the name LaCrosse) is overdone; too tall, too short; resembles a crossover. I was expecting more from Buick.
