What is a "GM COMPANY CAR"

Are these thing a good buy, or are they beat to *hit? Looking at a 2007 Corvette Z06 with 1000 miles on it. Good or bad deal?

Re: What is a "GM COMPANY CAR"

depends on the driver...some are meticulous and others beat. people who work for GM that RANK high enough get a company car to drive as a perk for working at GM but they pay a 100-200$ fee/month

Could it have been used as a tester for the automotive press?

From a few of my customer they tell me they can drive any GM vehicle that's $57k or less at no charge. Above that they'll pay based on what the car was.

As for the car being in service,it's tough to say. Most of the people that I know that have Pep cars are very careful and respectful.

Re: What is a "GM COMPANY CAR"

My G6 GTP was a GM corporate car. I had the dealership service department show me the history on it...it didn't have one. The car had never been in for service. Apparently it was right, because it's been excellent. And it was the only used GTP that met my expectations condition wise...perfect.

If it is a GM Certified vehicle it does. Otherwise it just has the remaining factory warranty.

I didn't want a GM Certified.

Then IMO, they can be no worse than a regular used vehicle.

Dude, it has 1000 miles on it, how much could it have been beaten in that short time? I mean if it still has all the tire tread, you should be good to go. And CobaltSScrazy is correct, for the most part employees high enough in the company to have a company car are not going to be reckless, especially w/ a car that expensive. My dad has had company cars through GM for the past few years and has never driven them any harder than you would on a normal test drive. But it all depends on the person--I'm sure there has been an employee or two to take such cars to the track or worse, especially cars like a Z06.

Re: What is a "GM COMPANY CAR"

Like any used vehicle, get it inspected by an independant garage. Don't expect a "GM certified" car to be superior to any other used car. If anything, my last certified GM car was the worst lemon I ever owned!

They're usually much better in fact. I'd go for it!

What job gets you a Z06 company car and where do I sign?

Re: What is a "GM COMPANY CAR"

Bought a "program" car once. Looking for a rattle in the dash and a couple Budget Rentacar cards fell out. Should have known, white car, tilt-cruise-air, cheap hubcaps. Decent car - until I tried to trade it in. Sure hope this company car designation is something else.
