Private party car sales

I realize it is probably a bad time of year for this, but I am trying to sell my 05 Cobalt and not having any luck at all. I think I have it priced right, does anyone have any suggestions on where I can advertise it? I have been putting it on craigslist for a couple of weeks not with no bites. I am not in a hurry to get rid of it, so I have no problem waiting for it to go but I want to know if I am missing anything. Here is what I have been running...does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Private party car sales

I'd look into autotrader.com

I found my Roadmaster on it and I've sold several vehicles using them as well, especially when I did not recive any hits from the local paper.

Yep autotrader is your best bet. When I sold my Mustang I put it on autotrader and I had one tirekicker come buy followed by the guy who bought it. It took two weeks start to finish.

You can always try ebay as well. I've had good luck with them.

Count me in on the AutoTrader suggestions.

I found my current daily driver, '87 MC LS, on it.

DISH..........You want too much money !

In my neck of the woods of Syracuse NY dealers have 07 Cobalts for $8995
and 07 Impalas for $10k ! Heck.............Even 07 Caddy DTS for $25k !
Granted they are ex-rentals but 2 years newer for less cash!

Get a 08 Cobalt NEW for $12,300 !

Re: Private party car sales

Your price is way out of line. Look on all of the other sites and see what comparable cars are selling for.

The only way to capture someone "uneducated" is to put the price and a for sale sign.

Maybe some yokul with trip over it.

07 Impalas for 10K? That sounds like a heck of a deal. What kind of mileage do these have?

Re: Private party car sales

Thanks for the input guys, sold my last newer car on Auto Trader with good success, but have used craigslist with great results for older $2000 cars so I thought I would give it a try this time. Looks like it is time to take out an ad in the Auto Trader again.

I checked on auto trader, my car seems to be right in line with the asking price of other 05 Cobalts around here. There are a couple that are less but one is a stripped 5 speed, a salvage title, and one with 63k miles.

I went onto the Auto trader for Syracuse, serached for 2005-newer cobalts for under 10k and came up with 2. A stripped 2006 5 speed for $9995 w/20k miles and an 05 with 66k miles for $8990. So what dealer are you looking at?
