    piant code from VIN#

Hello i need to replace the rear bumper on my 2004 buick rainier medium metallic red..I found one at a pretty reasonable price and they will also paint it for me to match they say all they need to get a color match is the VIN# they get there paint straight from the dealer. is that possible with just a vin#..or should i get the paint code from the glove box .

Nothing in the VIN will help you with your paint color.

Lefty........they want the vin# prob to run a VIS or build sheet for the correct color code. Just as easy to take the code off the RPO sheet in the glove box.

But most dealers usually don't stock paint and purchase it from
the local auto body shop supply jobber.
SOME large multi-make shops do have their own paint mix
    systems tho.....................

Paint code from the box, as mentioned, or run your VIN through GMVIS (at your local GM dealer) for COMPLETE build data, in the absence of your Build Sheet.

You should be able to find the paint code on the Service Parts Identification Label, which on the Rainer is located in the glovebox. The paint code will be the one that starts with two numbers and ends in U.

You can also private message me the VIN and I'll look it up in our records.

Unfortunately that doesn't appear to me a valid VIN in our system, but the that code should be the paint code for your truck.
