MPG opinions needed
My new Pontiac G6 is rated 23 city and 33 hwy. I realize I have only a few hundred miles on it, but at 15 mpg city, i'm not even in the neighborhood. The 169 hp 16v four cly does'nt seem to strain at all and acceleration is damn good for a four popper. When does a new engine break in enough to start getting good mpg results? Damn, I hope i don't have a lemon here.

Re: MPG opinions needed
It's hard to determine if you should worry yet. What kind of city driving?
Real short trips with lots of lights, traffic and stop signs will kill your mpg big time. For example my wife sometimes only drives the Explorer to a couple of stores within a few miles of the house. All driving was on local, sometimes hilly roads with lots of stop signs and lights. On days like that the Explorer's MPG dipped into the 12's when City is supposed to be 16. When the driving was mixed fuel economy ranged from over 15 to about 17 MPG. Admittedly 15 sounds incredibly low for you car. The worst my GTO ever got was about 15.4 MPG which was the week my transmission croaked. Before that it was 16 MPG in heavy nyc winter traffic. Are you calculating your own mpg or are you relying on the cars computer? My GTO has been inaccurate. Sometimes it has been off by 2 MPG. It always underestimates.
