GM Student Bonus.

I'm looking at getting a car (as the Lumina was totaled) and was researching offers that are available. Low and behold I find that Ford offers $500 to any full time student enrolled in just about any university. I google search GM for a similar offer and apparently they offer one, but in GM Canada. I believe GM used to have such an offer for US college students not so long ago.

Does GMUSA still offer a College Student Bonus? Any information would be much appreciated.

sigma, i hate to say this, but i haven't seen any thing for college students since they stopped the college grad bonus of 500.00 several years ago.

Re: GM Student Bonus.

That's most unfortunate because I really want to buy a GM car but that Ford discount is going to bias the decision towards Dearborn. Is there possibly a way to get a GM dealer to match the Ford discount?

Re: GM Student Bonus.

If you go Ford....they also have a $500 AQHA rebate. It cost ~$30 to sign up.

Quote:
Ford’s $500 e-certificate for AQHA members is available toward the purchase or lease of any 2006, 2007 or 2008 model year Ford or Lincoln-Mercury vehicle through the end of 2007. Lincoln and Mercury vehicles include the Montego, Navigator, Mountaineer, Mariner Hybrid, Mark LT, Grand Marquis, Mariner LS, Monterey, Zephyr, Milan and Town Car.
The $500 incentive is in addition to all other publicly available Ford Motor Company retail offers in effect at the time of purchase or lease of any new vehicle and may not be used in combination with other private offers. Note: A,X,Z,D plans are excluded. See your local Ford dealer for complete details and eligibility rules. Other restrictions may apply. Must be an AQHA member at least 60 consecutive days prior to purchase to qualify. Two e-certificates per member identification number per year.

Canada - 2 months free, max $600 payment/ total of $1200. Lease or finance. Security deposit is waved on all lease contracts eventhough most vehicles don't have a security deposit anymore.

Re: GM Student Bonus.

Buy the right car for you. It is up to the salesman to sell the value of the car. $500.00 does not seem like enough to take the GM car out. If the car you want is not a Ford you would be best advised to buy it. Do not buy something you don't want.

http://www.gmcollegegrad.com/home

Note:

"An eligible customer must reside in the GM North Central Region, which includes all or portions of IL, IN, IA, MI, MN, NE, ND, OH, SD, WI, and northwestern PA."
...
"The GMAC finance or lease contract must be dated no later than June 30, 2007."

If you live in the midwest try googling GM and Farm Bureau and your state name/abbreviation. But note that farm bureau bonus cash usually requires at least 30 days of membership before eligible. My state FB only offers Dodge, not GM.
