Despends on your level. I think hourly gets 2 GSU numbers and 1 GMS number a month. Salary gets 6 GSU and 2 GMS.

My dad is salary, so I kn ow that is correct, but not sure about hourly.

Re: GM discount

I thought you can only buy 2 vehicles per calender year under the GMS program?

Do you mean GMS auth. to give away to family members?

Re: GM discount

91.............A GM employee/retiree can sponsor you under the "GM discount for
friends" program This will entitle you to purchase (maybe lease) a new GM
vehicle for the GM supplier price. Yea its not as good as the GM employee
price (GMS) but its usually under invoice. Not to mention you will not have
to pay the advertising fee and your DOC fee is limited to $75 also.

MEDIOCRITY: It takes a lot less time, and most people won't notice the difference until it's too late.

Talking Re: GM discount

I am in the market to purchase a CTS, and I have found the one I want. My stepdad can get a GMS code, but he was told that he had to purchase a vehicle for himself first before he can give the code to anyone else. Does anyone know if this is correct? Since he is in Texas and I am in Virginia, I don't see how he would be able to purchase this vehicle for me either. Does anyone know how I can make this work or get another code from someone else? I need to do this pretty fast as well because it looks like I have a buyer for my car that I am selling privately. Any info would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

Question for you then coaster.n3rd....
Since you are a salesman for a GM dealership then what is the 'better deal' for YOU?
From your Dad or from your own function as a salesman?

Inquiring minds want to know?
And how do you feel this fine morning?

It's actually pretty difficult, they phone into some automated line and you enter in details about the employee like their Social Security number, DOB, stuff like that, then they tell you how many discounts you have left, and then you save one heck of a pretty penny. In 2003, I bought a $32,000 Envoy for only around $20,000. The fun thing is that the more expensive the car, the more you save. It's even better with a GM Card.

I feel like poo and its night time.

GMS from my father works best for me. My store discount is just over invoice and GMS is slightly better. I'm not sure how this would workout at say Chevy or Pontiac, you know the whole haggle thing. I guess I could pull some invoices and take a look, but I have a feeling GMS is always better because GM will offer GMS to dealership employees every once in a while. Not sure why they would do that if it was not a benefit for the employee.
