I thought this would be the best place for my question. Maybe there is a GM Mechanic that can give input. I am trying to understand the best method to use to replace my 2003 CTS 3.2L engine. If I took it to a dealership to have it done what would their repair manual proceedure say. Is it best to take it out from the top or drop the engine/cradle and transmission from the bottom. I've been given both answers but neither one works for a dealership. Then the question becomes do I do it or maybe I should have them do it. Anyone with expert advise? Thank You.
What's your expertise level? Do you have the tools to do the job? Sorry, I don't work at a Caddy dealership.
The control modules are going to have to be reprogramed after the engine replacement before the engine will start, so the vehicle will have to be towed to the dealer if they don't perform the work.
Why the hell you need to reprogram control modules before engine can start if you replace same engine with same?
