DOC fee and GM Supplier discont

Tommorrow morning I will be closing a deal on an 08 GMC Sierra Denali. I have a friend at GM that gave me a supplier program code and that worked out no problem. To my understanding with this program, it limits the dealer to a flat fee of $75.00 for tax title and fees. Right now I have a copy of the contract and they are trying to charge me $65.00 title prep, $129.00 Doc prep. I checked on the Family First and Supplier Discount website for the rules outlining the $75.00 flat charge but I cannot seem to find it. Can anyone help me out ? Thanks! - Mark

GM recently lost a court case that was filed by dealers against GM. Dealers say GM can't limit what they charge and GM wanted to limit it and they lost. Now a dealer can charge what they want for documentation fees and anything above $75 must be noted on the GMS/GMU form. So you won't find that rule on GMfamilyfirst.com anymore.

Also, Tax, Title & License are set by state law. So you have to pay those as governed by your state. DOC fee is seperate from TT&L.

Read this:
https://www.gmfamilyfirst.com/GMVPP/...enuId=49659554

But remember this is from the Family first site and applies to employee/retiree/family
deals. Not sure if it works with supplier deal.
Have the dealer call GM directly !

Re: DOC fee and GM Supplier discont

Maybe they can limit the deal to real suppliers only and be done with all these cheap people who arent happy enough with a supplier deal.

Re: DOC fee and GM Supplier discont

YES......BUT Blown is getting sponsored by a GM employee/retiree (guess who?)
for a official GM employee sponsored program "GM supplier for friends" deal.
So I can only assume it would follow the "employee deal" guidelines such as
the DOC fee limited to $75 bucks but ALSO that there will be NO addl. charge
for the advertising fee also! (Blown you should ask about this also) !!!!!!
The only other charges you should pay is taxes and license fee.

It is best that you have the F&I person to call GM program headquarters
directly (or do it yourself) so you will get the BEST deal and not pay any
un-necessary addl. charges !

Sometimes the salesfolks and/or F&I folks have no clue on some
of these GM employee deals!

Also read and print this link out and ask if it will apply to your deal
(it should) http://www.gmfamilyfirst.com/GMVPP/p...ff_friends.pdf
It is a addl. $1000 bucks off !!!!!!!!
All on top of any regular rebate for your area............geo

Re: DOC fee and GM Supplier discont

ESPO....Thats pretty funny your in the Philly area as I have family there and across the bridge in NJ and
they get the WORST jerking around when purchasing on the GM employee/family
deal program. Fantasy added fees, $1000 DOC fees, every vehicle on the lot
with added clown chrome, mud flaps, fart cans, mop n glow, etc.................
Does PA have a limited DOC fee like NY?

Most if not all travel the 4 hours back to Syracuse to get a square no hassle
zero pressure deal along with a NY limited to $45 DOC fee and $20 30 day
temp tags along with no dealer add on fluff goodies or mop n glow treatments
not to mention a higher trade in value for their late model "no salt/no winter
PA/NJ trade". And they get to have a family Sunday dinner before their
ride back home in their new GM vehicle !.............

I just snicker when I read the screamer/small fine print auto ads in the Philly papers! I LOVE the Kerbeck adds!
It must be a zoo selling cars down there!..............geo

Re: DOC fee and GM Supplier discont

Again, GM cannot dictate what a dealer charges for DOC or aquiring fees. Only the local law can.

Re: DOC fee and GM Supplier discont

Documentation fees
Dealers will be permitted to assess up to $75 in documentary fees on each delivery to an eligible purchaser under the terms of these programs, unless otherwise provided by state or local laws or regulations. Each dealer is responsible for complying with applicable laws and regulations.

GENERAL MOTORS TERMS AND CONDITIONS CANNOT BE MODIFIED BY ANYONE OTHER THAN GENERAL MOTORS.
GM-1755 (Rev. 02/11/08)

Unless that court case has occured since 02/11/08, the rules still limit the doc fee to $75.

See the bolded part, many dealers in the detroit area now charge above and beyond $75 including myself for GM employees and GSU and GM can't do anything about it. We changed this over on 1/28/08 to $85. GM is not obligated to change their "rule" and we are not obligated to follow that rule since the ruling on 01/28/08

I'll get what info I can tomorrow.

Re: DOC fee and GM Supplier discont

are rules on DOC fee are easy, its $395 bucks...you pay it or buy the car somewhre else.....but here we dont have advertising fees, and all that crap....maybe Blown they could mark the truck back UP to where it should sell for and wave the doc fees for you,.....some people are never frickin happy and find anything to complain about...how much off of this truck are you getting....???

Re: DOC fee and GM Supplier discont

Read section 2 of this GM price sheet. As you can see we are allowed to charge more and must document it on this sheet.

Re: DOC fee and GM Supplier discont

Ironically I wrote this yesterday in the "Sales Tactics" thread.

----------------------------------------------------

Some things I have come across in my recent "shopping expedition" for a new truck.

I get GMS, and I can log into FMFF and see the prices, that is always OK, but payment from one dealer to the next very TREMENDOUSLY on, what would apparently is a “fixed price” transaction.

Digging deeper into the numbers, some dealers show you, others won’t – they just want to bend you over and get you fixated on the payment alone.

Same Truck, two dealers and dramatically different payments!? The rest of the story….

Dealer A:
Documentation Fee: $180, Acquisition Fee: $595, Security Deposit $325, Money Rate 5.75%, Residual 59%

Dealer B:
Documentation Fee: $75, Acquisition Fee: $0, Security Deposit $0, Money Rate 4.75%, Residual 59%

So when …..

Dealer A applies my $600 DAS, it doesn’t begin to touch the Cap Cost, and actually his “fees everybody pays” are applied increases my Cap Cost, by over $500 or over the 39 months about $13/month.

Dealer B applies my $600 DAS, covers all the fees and pays down the Cap Cost some, combining that, with the “good credit” Money Rate of 4.75 the resulting payment is reduced about $20.

A difference of $33, for the same truck! Over 39 months …………… over $1,200!

Now I went to 5 or 6 dealers and talked to 3 or 4 more, pretty easy when you live in a Metropolitan area and buying a GM truck (Chevrolet or GMC). These were the extremes, most were somewhere in the middle, but as you see they very greatly.

Buyer Beware!
