Re: Anyone get a GM Card Bonus lately?

I got no GM Card bonus when I bought a car a couple years ago, and two guys I know (living in the same area as me) got $5000 top-off bonuses. I found out shortly after I purchased my car. They each did a SmartBuy on a GTO the same month as me, but they paid thousands less due to what I consider an arbitrarily-discriminating GM Card bonus. GM Card made no apologies. Apparently I was buying more cars, so I didn't need the enticing the others did. In fact, they buy GM cars, too, but their WIVES' GM Cards showed no car-purchase transactions, so their wives' cards were eligible for the generous top-off. What a joke! I wrote the GM Card off as a result of that experience.

Now I'm writing GMAC and the dealer off as a result of a terrible turn-in experience (another post). Without GM Card and GMAC, its becoming hard to imagine remaining in the GM fold.

Re: Anyone get a GM Card Bonus lately?

I haven't got one since last spring either, when I bought my wife's Rendezvous, it was perfect timing for me, I had $50 bucks on my GM card, stopped using it after it went to 1% for employee sales. I got a $500 bonus, never cancelled the cards because of that $50 credit and almost 6 years later it rewarded me 10-fold, my truck lease is up in less than 90 days, another reward bonus would be nice about now..............

Talking Re: Anyone get a GM Card Bonus lately?

Received a surprise today in the mail. I had 902.40 in earnings on my GM card and GM topped it off with an additional $1,097.60 to make it an even $2,000! It's good until 1/31! NOW, if Fairfax would start pushing out those V6 LTZs maybe I can make use of this money! I already lost out on a 2 month pull ahead on my currect lease to the tune of $800.00 and another $250.00 that GM gave me in July on my card that disappears on Wed. 1-2. So, as soon as I get a VIN for my new Malibu, I'll be all set. It's supposed to go into production as soon as the plant reopens Wednesday!

I STILL have NOT seen ONE Malibu on the roads around So. CT. The dealers around here are not loaded with them either. It's not because they're selling them faster than they get them! The models they do have are NOT the LTZ V6s. Here's hoping I can make use of this latest GM offer!

Happy New Year everyone. Stay safe!

Yeah, we just got a $1,000 "gift" from the GM card folks.

When did they change from 5% back to 3%? I still have the 5% card.

I didn't even know they changed! I never even figure out the percentages to see if they are correct. I probably should because these companies change their rules/regulations at "whim"! If you don't read the SMALL print you could be in for a surprise!

One interesting bit of info that I read somewhere on GMI is that if you have been a long time cardholder, you can use ALL your credits on a new car and not be bound by their $$$ limits that are now in place. Not sure if that is true. I'll find out soon enough when my car comes in!

Do they have a roundup/topoff/bonus website again this time with details?

Re: Anyone get a GM Card Bonus lately?

Yes!! I hope to the powers that be we get a bonus notice in the mail Wednesday.

Because like fastdriver...we're buying a Malibu, and an extra $2000 would make the payments PERFECT without any extra money down. It would make my mother's DAY, and she'd be happy for weeks.

We always get these...so let this be one of those times, when we actually ARE car shopping...and unlike fastdriver, have been much more lucky in getting the Malibu we want

I would have had my Malibu by now if I opted for the 4 cyl, but I really want the 6 cyl. I don't drive that much anymore to worry too much about gas prices. Despite the fact that others here, in other sections of GMI, think I'm full of hot air, the LTZs are being limited in numbers. I will have mine before the end of the month. I can't waste my time defending my statements. All I can say that time will tell if I am indeed right or if I am full of hot air. However, I do NOT make statements without some hint of fact/truth connected to them. Some here think that "trouble" follows me. Of course, I'm sure the person who made that statement didn't like the Chrysler bashing on my website because he sells those too. Probably thinks I made all those stories up! As a former 300M owner you know what I'm talking about.

I can't wait to get the Mali. The LaCrosse goes back next Tuesday with only 18,000 miles on it. Looks as good as the day I got it. Hope we have some nice days between now and then so I can drive it without getting it dirty because I hate to return it with 3/4 tank of gas!

Happy New Year everyone! Let's hope we have a more peaceful year worldwide.

Caddycruiser- i hope you get a GM notice tomorrow! Can't tell you how many Malibu commercials I have seen today! I love them- "The car you can't ignore"- FIRST you have to SEE them on the road in order to ignore them! I still have not seen one here.

Re: Anyone get a GM Card Bonus lately?

Is there anyway a relative can give you their GM card money (including topoff)? My Mom has a GM card but she's not in the market right now but I am (I don't have a GM card). Anyone know if she could pass her GM earnings on to me? Probably wishful thinking but hey it's worth a shot..

On a sidenote if the rebate is only 3% now instead of 5% do you guys think it's still a good deal to go ahead and get the card? Probably is when they do these topoff promotions, etc...

Yes, she can temporarily put you on it as a authorized user of the card. Then you can redeem the card money.

I'm worried a little now...no mailing yet (holiday, I know) and I had her login online this morning, and nothing extra was posted there, at least that she saw.

She's gotten basically every bonus so far, so I still hope something shows up tomorrow.
