Advice - buying 9-7x

Dear All - with the $7000 cash back available on the 9-7x, my better half is seriously thinking about it ...

Are there any Saab dealers on this website? any from Philadelphia Area?

Anyone could give me a sense of a fair price for a 9-7x? I usually shoot for invoice or even lower and then discounts .. if that fair for the 9-7x? Any options to look for / stay away from?

any finprint on the $7000 cash back?

any other advice?

Thanks for any help

Igor

Re: Advice - buying 9-7x

on a related note - does GM/Saab have anything similar to the Ford X-plan for "family and firiends"? A factory discount I would qualify for ?

Thanks

Igor

Yeah, should be able to get a number from a GM employee for a discount, unless things have changed. Our neighbor gave us his digits for the Silverado...our other neighbor helped us out doing the same when I bought the Mustang.

Re: Advice - buying 9-7x

Why would you want a 9-7X?

OTOH, $7K cashback will give you back a part of what you overpay on a Trailblazer when you purchase a Saablazer... I wouldn't want to own a vehicle I couldn't drive, because I'd abhorr touching the steering wheel...

Being a Ford fan, with Ford having much nicer overpriced "premium" SUVs, I really can't see why you'd go Saablazer...

Bah, the Saab looks fantastic outside, if a little less so on the inside. Wear tinted glasses when you drive it and you'll be fine!

Or just close your eyes while driving.

BTW, it doesn't look fantastic. It looks as if Pimp My Ride tried to convert a Trailblazer into a Saab without much success...

Bah, I quite often agree with you, even when I don't want to admit it... but I think the 9-7x transformation was solid.

Re: Advice - buying 9-7x

look guys - not here

The 9-7x materials and leather are top notch - even if the deisgn is lacking - and yes - the rebate puts us in a SUV with HId;s and good interior for the price of an Explorer or trailblazer ..

The pic above is the best proof it is not - they did change a substantial amount of absolutely unforgivable blunders in the original, but skipping the steering wheel, which basically defines the vehicle's "look" to the driver, is totally unexcusable. There are also many other (too many) places where the "heritage" peeks from under the vents and faux wood.

I would seriously consider an Explorer instead. Some might not like the design, but I think it is a more solid proposition. I don't know about the standard kit though - perhaps the Saab with the rebate does have the edge there.

What are the relative prices of the Lambdas and MKX?

Re: Advice - buying 9-7x

Oh I meant the outside... the inside, well yeah, nothing special there. Still, I personally could live with a ho-hum interior if I had an exterior I loved. If for the same price he can have a TB or Explorer, I say go Saab!

Re: Advice - buying 9-7x

I am still not sure what the prices of the 9-7X are before and after the rebate, but I believe there are many more desirable cars for the price...

Maybe so, but I don't see the need to crap on the guy's desired choice of vehicle in a thread where he's asking for pricing info, etc. If it's what he wants, and is likely to buy, I don't see a point in making him feel bad about it.

Re: Advice - buying 9-7x

MSRP: $40k
Invoice: $36k
Rebate: $5-7k

My goal is to fit under 30k including fees .. and if I get a PIn -I would go even lower .. that is solidly Explorer / Equinox or any other midsize SUV terrutory, but with the SAB tuning this SUV rides better than anything else on the road - yet it is still BOF truck that can TOW (5500lb - 6500lbs)

oh and while the design of the dash is questionable, my better half LOVES Saabs, so she likes the standard Saab design of the interior ..

and about the interior - look at the craftsmanship:

I like it quite a bit

Right now I have a lead on 2 "demo" vehicles still classified as new - I might jsut get an awesome deal on those.
