Pontiac G8 Reaction

Thought I'd post this here, as it seemed the most appropriate spot, since the g8 has been on sale for a few weeks now, whats the reaction at the dealership like? Any good or bad issues?

If this is in the wrong spot please mods plz move. Just wanting to see what the insiders think.

Re: Pontiac G8 Reaction

I have read a lot of positive reviews about it when they compare it to the only other vehicle that really compares against it, the Dodge Charger, the Pontiac is a better ride

Hmm. Most of the reviews I read about it compares it to BMWs, still favorably.

May be my next car if the lease rates get better.

I agree that it compares well with the BMW 5M Series. 400 HP 400 ft/lb stock with 0-60 numbers that are better than the BMW M5...

The BMW M5 396 HP 390 ft/lb torque.

The look of the G8 is very BMW in my opinion and the interior looks like a custom Beemer interior to boot.

The BMW M5 (which is the only sedan BMW makes with similar demensions as the G8 GXP) lists at 98,000.00 vs the G8 GXP in the high 30's.

The G8 is a winner!

Re: Pontiac G8 Reaction

The car has very nice road presence. Even though the styling is unremarkable, the proportions are fantastic with a low and muscular look. I haven't examined one closely but my only complaints when I sat in one at the auto show were the somber all-charcoal interior and cheap looking silver trim. I know red seat inserts are available but how about a nice black/beige combo like the G6?

Re: Pontiac G8 Reaction

The Pontiac display at the Homestead race this weekend was swamped. They had a grey car there and it got very favorable reviews. And of course the Rolex Series pace car is an orange G8 GT. Ihe leases will probably be bad on the 2008's but wait for the 2009's. The only thing that will hurt the launch of this car is the dealers themselves. Like they did with the GTO. I feel people actually want this car ...at least in this market where there is money and no bad weather to be a factor and make people want FWD.

The G8 makes 361/385 not 400/400, secondly there is no GXP....yet.

Not to mention the M5 makes 500 HP. There is a GXP, just hasn't been released yet with a detuned LS3 making just above 400 HP.

Re: Pontiac G8 Reaction

We have about 6 of the V6 models, and they arent really selling for some reason. We have alot of jacks just wanting to look at the car, but everybody...and I mean everybody wants a V8. We would sell the hell out of those.

Re: Pontiac G8 Reaction

Yer, from what i have read over at the G8 boards the V8 is the pick of the bunch. Similar MPG figures with some much added power. The V6's are still not a bad option. Better for city driving and still have the good looks. Perhaps throw in some bonuses or something to clear them out and pack in the V8 models.

WTF!? When is it coming to Canada? I just went to www.gmcanada.com and it says "Coming Soon." I wanted to build one on there.
